How to Use Our Printed Milestone Banners
Our premium paper milestone banners are built to last – weatherproof, vibrant, and much stronger than traditional crepe paper banners. Here's everything you need to know to make your game day perfect.
See it in action:

What You'll Need
Sticky tape
Regular household tape works perfectly.
The premium paper material grips tape well and won't tear like crepe paper.
Sharp knife or craft blade
You'll need this to prepare the banner for the final step before the run-through.
Poles
Most footy clubs already have these from previous banner-making. Check with your coach or club president first. If you need poles, grab some 40mm plumbing pipe from Bunnings, around 2 - 2.2 Metres long.
Setting Up Your Milestone Banner

Attach to poles
Roll out your banner and tape each end securely to your poles. There is extra white paper on each side of the banner. Roll this on to the poles until only the printed area is visible.

Position at the ground
Set up your banner where the team will run through – usually near the boundary line as players enter the field.
Photos will look best with the sun behind the banner to light it up!

Get your photos first
This is important: take all your celebration photos while the banner is intact. The colours will pop in pictures, and you'll want these keepsake shots before the run-through.
The Run-Through Process
Here's where our printed milestone banners differ from crepe paper ones:
Your banner is strong – really strong. That's why it stays intact in wind and rain, but it also means players will bounce right off it unless you prepare it properly.
Prepare your Footy Banner before the run-through:
-
Take your knife and cut several vertical slits down the middle section where the player will break through following the instruction diagram on the banner
-
Make the cuts about 20-30cm long, spaced like the diagram in the instructions
-
Don't cut all the way to the top or bottom – just create evenly spaced cuts

Once you've made the slits: The banner will tear perfectly as the player runs through, creating that classic breakthrough moment every milestone deserves.
Photos You Should Take
With the banner intact (before making the slits):

PREPARE YOUR BANNER NOW AND CUT YOUR SLITS!

After the Game
Many players tape the banner together again as a keepsake, or you might have ordered a smaller wall banner version to display at home. Either way, you've got photos and lasting memories of a special milestone celebration.
