Burleigh Bombers Banners - Gold Coast AFL Pride Since 1979
Founded in 1979, the Burleigh Bombers AFC has been at the heart of Australian rules football on the Gold Coast, and FootyBanners.com is proud to help the Bombers celebrate every milestone with a custom banner that captures that proud spirit.
Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options and provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone (for example, Brett Howard, #22, 150 Games). Banners are produced with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper that holds up through a sweltering Queensland afternoon at Bill Godfrey Oval.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Bombers players share a milestone on the same day, our Two Player banner honours them both in one quality design. Supply both players' names and guernsey numbers and we'll handle the design from there.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Celebrating 3 to 6 players at once? Our Team Banner option brings everyone together in one powerful design. Set a top-line message like "Bomb On Bombers!" and send the squad running through something they'll remember for years.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. A great addition to the Bombers clubrooms at Bill Godfrey Oval or a home display celebrating a great career at Burleigh.
Grand Final Banners
When the Bombers are playing for the title, go all out with a Grand Final banner in 4.5m or 5.5m. Top and bottom text is fully customised for Burleigh Bombers AFC. Get in touch early for design and wording advice.
About Burleigh Bombers Australian Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Burleigh Bombers Australian Football Club was founded in 1979 in the Burleigh Heads suburb of Queensland's Gold Coast. From modest beginnings, the Bombers have grown to become one of the largest AFL clubs in Queensland, offering complete playing pathways for girls, boys, women, and men of all ages and abilities. The club's progression takes players from Auskick (ages 5-7) through junior football (ages 8-12), youth (ages 13-17), senior men's and women's competitions, and Masters divisions (35+ and 45+). By 2024, more than 45 teams were fielded across all age groups, with well over 1,000 registered players.
Club History
The Bombers have claimed five premierships, winning in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2021, and 2023. Their early 2000s run of three flags in five years established the club as a powerhouse in Queensland football, with the 2021 and 2023 titles coming in the QFA Division 2 South competition. The Bombers have produced numerous players who have progressed to AFL level, including Andrew Lovett (Essendon), Maddison Levi and Charlotte Hammans (both Gold Coast and Carlton), Jacob Dawson, Brayden Crossley, and Lachie Gulbin (Gold Coast). In 2025, three Bombers players were drafted to the AFL, with Zeke Uwland (2nd selection), Jai Murray (17th), and Beau Addinsall (18th) all selected by the Gold Coast Suns - underlining the club's standing as one of Queensland's premier football academies.
Home Ground
The Bombers' home ground is Bill Godfrey Oval in Burleigh Heads. The ground is a central fixture of the local sporting community and serves as the base for the club's extensive junior and senior programs. The Bombers are also proudly associated with the Burleigh Sports Club, which provides social and hospitality facilities for members, supporters, and the broader Gold Coast community seven days a week.
Community and Programs
The Burleigh Bombers are one of the Gold Coast's most inclusive football clubs, welcoming players from all backgrounds and experience levels. With more than 600 junior members and 34 junior teams fielded in 2023, the Bombers run one of Queensland's most comprehensive junior football programs. Their female football pathway runs from Under 8s through to senior women's competition, reflecting the club's commitment to growing football opportunities for women and girls across the region.
Burleigh Heads
Burleigh Heads is a coastal suburb on the southern Gold Coast, Queensland, known for its surf beach, boutique shopping, cafe culture, and Burleigh Head National Park, which sits at the headland between Burleigh Beach and Tallebudgera Creek. The suburb is one of the Gold Coast's most sought-after residential and tourist areas, located approximately 80 kilometres south of Brisbane. Its mix of relaxed beach lifestyle and strong community identity makes it an ideal home for a football club with deep local roots.
The Bombers compete in the AFL Queensland QFA Division 2 South competition and call Bill Godfrey Oval home. Visit burleighbombers.com, follow them on Facebook, and follow on Instagram for news and match day updates.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
