About Albany Creek Crushers Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Albany Creek Crushers Junior Rugby League Football Club traces its origins to a community meeting held in December 1990, when residents of the Albany Creek area of Queensland voted to form a rugby league club and enter teams in the Brisbane Junior Rugby League competition. The club's inaugural season kicked off on 3 March 1991 at Neuman Oval, when the first Albany Creek Junior side ran out against Valleys. Captained by Trevor McKey and coached by Pat Williams, that debut team went on to finish its inaugural season undefeated - a remarkable beginning for a brand-new club.
In 1995 the club formed a formal association with the South Queensland Crushers NRL franchise, adopted their current name - Albany Creek Crushers - and introduced a new jersey design. The following year, in 1996, the Crushers relocated from Albany Creek High School oval to their current home at South Pine Sporting Complex in Brendale. In September 1998, the clubhouse at the South Pine site was officially opened with the assistance of a $50,000 grant from the Queensland Government's Department of Sport, Tourism and Recreation, followed in 1999 by a further $38,200 from Jupiter's Casino to develop the facilities further.

Club History
The Crushers compete in the Brisbane Junior Rugby League competition, one of Queensland's largest and most competitive junior rugby league competitions. Over more than three decades of operation, the club has grown from a handful of founding teams into a multi-age-group organisation that fields teams from the youngest age groups right through to senior ranks. In 2018, the club launched a landmark new chapter with the introduction of its inaugural U14 Girls competition, supported by NRL Games Development Officer Sarah Walker. The club has also hosted marquee events including the QLD Murri Carnival in 2021 at South Pine Sporting Complex.

Home Ground
The Crushers have played at South Pine Sporting Complex on South Pine Road, Brendale since 1996. The complex serves as the club's permanent base, with the clubhouse first opened in September 1998 following government grant funding. South Pine Sporting Complex is a shared multi-sport facility in Brendale in the City of Moreton Bay, providing fields, amenities, and year-round access for junior and senior players and their families.

Community and Programs
The Albany Creek Crushers are committed to developing pathways for young players from their first season of junior rugby league all the way through to senior representative football. Senior playing members actively assist with junior coaching and fitness training, creating an important mentoring pipeline that eases the transition from junior to senior ranks. The club's motto - "Developing spirit, strength and sportsmanship to be the best you can be" - reflects its family-friendly, community-first values that have sustained the organisation for over three decades.

Albany Creek and Brendale
Albany Creek is a southern suburb within the City of Moreton Bay, located approximately 17 kilometres north-west of the Brisbane central business district. According to the 2021 Census, Albany Creek had a population of 16,385 people. The broader area includes the neighbouring suburb of Brendale, which is home to South Pine Sporting Complex and sits approximately 22 kilometres north of Brisbane CBD. The Moreton Bay region encompasses a vast stretch of South East Queensland and is one of the fastest-growing local government areas in Australia.
