Whether it's a player's milestone game or the club chasing finals glory, FootyBanners.com creates custom Suns banners that capture the spirit of Northern Beaches AFL in Townsville. Celebrate every great moment in style.

Simple to Order

Pick from our Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options and provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone (for example, Liam Fraser, #8, 100 Games). Banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper built to handle a sweltering Queensland afternoon at North Shore Oval.

Two Players, One Banner

Two Suns players reaching the same milestone on the same day? Our Two Player banner celebrates them both in one great design. Just send through both players' names and guernsey numbers and we'll take it from there.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Our Team Banner option covers groups of 3 to 6 players at once. Set a top-line message like "Rise Suns Rise!" and give your squad something to run through that they'll treasure for years to come.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are produced on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. A great fit for the Suns clubrooms or a proud display in a supporter's home.

Grand Final Banners

When the Suns are in the grand final, show up in style with a banner in 4.5m or 5.5m. Top and bottom text is fully customised for Northern Beaches Suns AFC. Reach out for design help well ahead of the big day.

About Northern Beaches Suns AFC

Origins and Formation

The Northern Beaches Suns AFC was established in 2016 through the merger of two existing AFL Townsville clubs - the Townsville City Lions (senior men's team, formerly known as the Northern Beaches Lions) and the Northern Beaches Barras (junior program). The merger brought together a combined senior and junior football organisation based in the fast-growing northern suburbs of Townsville, with the North Shore Community Centre in Burdell as its home. In the club's inaugural 2016 season, two teams reached the AFL Townsville grand finals, with the Under 15s winning the club's first premiership. In 2017, all grades fielded by the Suns made the finals series, with two teams again reaching the grand final.

Competition and Programs

The Suns compete in the AFL Townsville competition, which is administered by AFL North Queensland. The club fields teams across junior age groups from Auskick and under-8s through to under-17s, as well as Men's Senior, Men's Reserve and Women's Senior sides. With more than 250 registered players, the Suns are one of the larger clubs in AFL Townsville. The club has a strong family focus and explicitly welcomes both experienced players and those new to Australian rules football.

Home Ground

The Suns play their home fixtures at the North Shore Community Centre - known locally as "The Green" - in Burdell. The venue serves all Suns programs throughout the AFL Townsville season and has been the club's base since their 2016 formation. The ground is shared across junior and senior grades and has seen ongoing facility improvements since the club's formation.

Burdell and the Townsville Northern Beaches

Burdell is a rapidly growing suburb in the Northern Beaches corridor of Townsville, situated approximately 15.8 kilometres northwest of the Townsville central business district. The suburb recorded a population of 7,171 at the 2021 Census - a 23 percent increase on 2016 - and is characterised by its young demographic, with a median age of just 28 years. The broader Northern Beaches area of Townsville is one of Queensland's fastest-developing residential corridors, attracting young families and driving growth in community sport.

The Suns compete in AFL Townsville and call the North Shore Community Centre in Burdell home. Visit the Northern Beaches Suns website for fixtures, registration, and club news. • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
