Newtown & Chilwell Eagles Banners - Celebrating Every Eagles Milestone

From junior debuts to senior career milestones, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that honour every Newtown & Chilwell Eagles achievement. Each banner is personalised for the Eagles, making every celebration as memorable as the moment it marks.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options. Provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Chris Donaldson, #5, 100 Games. Eagles banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, perfect for a blustery Melbourne winter afternoon at Jardon Oval.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Eagles players share the same milestone game, our Two Player banner honours them both in one quality keepsake. Supply each player's name, guernsey number, and the shared milestone for a banner they'll both treasure for years to come.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Our Team Banner option caters for 3 to 6 players and is the ideal way to recognise group milestones or end-of-season achievements. A top-line message like "Newtown & Chilwell Eagles - Premiers" sets the scene for a celebration the whole club will remember. Go the Eagles!

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Hang your Eagles banner in the clubrooms, home office, or games room as a lasting reminder of a proud Newtown & Chilwell moment.

Grand Final Banners

Give the Newtown & Chilwell Eagles the grand final entrance they deserve with a fully customised banner. Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with custom top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice and to place your order.

About Newtown & Chilwell Eagles

Origins and Founding

The Newtown & Chilwell Football Netball Club (N&CFNC) - known as the Eagles - was formed in 1934 when the Chilwell Football Club (founded 1874) and the Newtown Football Club (founded 1874/75) merged. Both clubs were among the earliest in the Geelong region, and their merger created one of the inner city's most storied sporting organisations. The combined club has been affiliated with the Geelong Football League (GFL) since 1979. Over the years the club's identity evolved through several nicknames - first the Combine, then the Wells, then the Bloods - before adopting the Eagles name and emblem.

Club History

Since formation, the Eagles have won nine senior GFL premierships: 1937, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1978, 1982, 1985 and 1986. Their mid-1960s four-peat (1962-1965) and back-to-back titles in 1985-86 stand as the high points of the senior football program. The club has also achieved success at reserves level (1965, 1971, 1977, 2006, 2011), multiple Under-18 and Under-17 flags, and a Youth Girls premiership in 2012. The full club history is detailed on the N&CFNC website.

Home Ground

The Newtown & Chilwell Eagles are based in Newtown, an inner western suburb of Geelong. The club's home ground serves multiple levels of both football and netball throughout the season. Newtown is one of the higher-elevated suburbs in Geelong, providing panoramic views over the city, and the club's inner-city location has made it accessible to a broad range of players and supporters across Geelong's western suburbs.

Community and Programs

As of 2025, the Eagles' junior football and netball program has over 600 participants, continuing strong year-on-year growth. The senior football and netball programs involve more than 200 players competing at a representative level. The club is committed to providing quality opportunities to play and enjoy football and netball at every stage of the sporting journey, from Auskick and junior grades through to senior competition. Club values of Selfless, United, Respect and Relentless underpin everything the Eagles do on and off the field.

Newtown

Newtown is an inner western suburb of Geelong, Victoria, within the City of Greater Geelong local government area. According to the Newtown Wikipedia article, the suburb recorded a population of 10,445 at the 2021 census. One of Geelong's oldest established residential areas, Newtown sits on elevated ground overlooking the city and is known for its heritage streetscapes, proximity to Geelong's CBD and strong community character. The suburb borders Chilwell, the other half of the club's name and heritage.

The Eagles compete in the Geelong Football League (GFL) and call Newtown home. Visit the club website, follow on Facebook or Instagram for news, fixtures and membership details.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
