Aldinga Sharks Banners - 140+ Years of Shark Pride
Whether it is a milestone game, a junior flag, or a grand final run, FootyBanners.com has a custom banner for every proud Sharks moment. One of South Australia's oldest football clubs, the Aldinga Sharks deserve a banner that does justice to their remarkable history.
Simple to Order
Ordering a Single Player banner is straightforward - just provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and the milestone you are celebrating, for example: Jake Smith, #7, 100 Games. Banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper that holds up on a blazing South Australian afternoon. Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Sharks reach the same milestone on the same day, our Two Player banner is the ideal way to honour them both. Provide each player's name, guernsey number, and milestone and we will produce a quality banner celebrating them side by side.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Perfect for squads of 3 to 6 players, the Team Banner option is great for premiership sides and group milestones. Customise with a top-line message like "Sharks C Grade 2025 Premiers" and a closing tagline the whole club can take pride in.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Hang yours in the clubrooms at Shark Park, at home, or in the shed as a permanent tribute to the Sharks' great history.
Grand Final Banners
Give the Aldinga Sharks Football Club the grand final send-off they deserve. Run-through banners in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice before the big day.
About Aldinga Sharks Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Aldinga Football Club traces its origins to 1879, making it one of South Australia's oldest football clubs. In 1886, Aldinga and Willunga were founding members of the Southern Football Association - the Fleurieu Peninsula's first formal football governing body, which later became the Southern Football League. In 1901, Aldinga briefly merged with Sellicks Hill FC to form Hills United FC before re-establishing independently. By the 1920s the Sharks were poised to become one of the competition's great powers.
Club History
Aldinga's golden era is among the most remarkable in South Australian football. After losing the 1926 grand final to Noarlunga by 9 points, the Sharks won six consecutive SFA A-Grade premierships from 1927 to 1932, then added a seventh in 1934. Both the six-in-a-row and seven-in-eight-years feats remain SFL records. The club disbanded in 1952 due to player shortages, then reformed in 1977. The Sharks won SFL Division 2 premierships in 1991 and 1993, Reserve Grade flags in 1987 and 1992, a Senior Colts title in 1998, and Junior Colts titles in 1994 and 2001. In 2025 the club won both the U17 Girls and C Grade Men flags.
In 2014, the Sharks gained national fame after a difficult season attracted Brownlow Medallist Shane Crawford, who played a guest game on 24 May and led them to their first win. Footy Show identities Sam Newman and Billy Brownless also lent their support, and Hall of Famer Graham Cornes ran a training session - a story that captured the heart of grassroots footy nationwide.
Home Ground
The Sharks play at Shark Park (Aldinga Oval) on Port Road, Aldinga SA 5173 - a ground that has served as the club's home base for generations and sits at the centre of the local community.
Community and Programs
The Aldinga Football Club runs Auskick, junior, colts, and senior programs. It is a family-friendly, volunteer-run club and one of the cornerstones of the Aldinga community.
Aldinga and the Fleurieu Peninsula
Aldinga is a suburb of southern Adelaide, about 45 km south of the CBD in the City of Onkaparinga. With a 2021 census population of 764, it sits 1 km east of Aldinga Beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula - a farming settlement from the 1850s that today borders the famous McLaren Vale wine region.
The Sharks compete in the Southern Football League and call Shark Park home. Visit the club website, follow on Facebook, and follow on Instagram for news and updates.

-
-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
