Simple to Order

We offer Single Player, Two Player, Team, and Grand Final banner styles. Just send us the player's details - name, guernsey number, and milestone, for example, Tom Reid, #11, 50 Games - and we'll create a banner worth running through. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to handle a brisk Melbourne winter morning at the ground.

Two Players, One Banner

When two players are celebrating the same milestone on the same day, our Two Player Banner is the ideal option. Supply both players' names and guernsey numbers and we'll produce a high-quality banner that brings the crowd to their feet.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Our Team Banner fits 3 to 6 players and can be personalised with a top-line message like "Fly High Lions!" to get the squad fired up before they run out. A fantastic way to recognise a group of young footballers all at once.

About Coburg Lions Junior Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Coburg Lions Junior Football Club is the junior football arm of the Coburg Football Club, one of Melbourne's oldest and most storied community football clubs. The senior club was founded in 1891 and joined the Victorian Football Association (VFA) as a senior club in 1925, going on to win three consecutive VFA premierships in 1926, 1927, and 1928. The junior program developed from this long-established base, giving young footballers across the Coburg and Moreland region a direct pathway into one of Victoria's most respected football environments.

Club History

The Coburg Lions Junior Football Club competes in the Essendon District Football League (EDFL) junior competition, fielding teams from Under 8s through to Under 16s. The senior Coburg Football Club - nicknamed the Lions - has a decorated history in Victorian football, having won six VFA/VFL premierships in total (1926, 1927, 1928, 1979, 1988, and 1989). The club also competed as the Coburg-Fitzroy Lions in 1999 and 2000, and under a Richmond Football Club alignment as the Coburg Tigers from 2001 to 2013, before returning to the Lions name in 2014. According to Wikipedia, the club holds numerous other records across reserve and thirds grade competitions spanning more than a century.

The club has produced several AFL-listed players over its history. Notable alumni include Phil Cleary (club legend, premiership coach, and later Victorian politician), along with players who have represented the club in the VFL into the modern era. The club also fields a FIDA Football League team for players with intellectual disabilities, reflecting a broader commitment to inclusive football across the community.

Home Ground

The Coburg Lions Junior Football Club plays home games at Barry Plant Park - also known as Coburg City Oval - located at the corner of Harding Street and Russell Street in Coburg. The senior club has made Coburg City Oval its home since 1915. The ground has a capacity of 15,000 and once recorded an attendance of 21,695. In March 2025, the ground was officially renamed Barry Plant Park after the club signed a five-year naming rights deal with Barry Plant Coburg/Brunswick. The ground underwent a major redevelopment between early 2020 and May 2021, with upgrades to the grandstand, club offices, facilities, and ground drainage.

Community and Programs

The Coburg Football Club is deeply embedded in the Merri-bek community and has built a reputation as a leader in inclusive and community-focused football. The club runs an annual NAIDOC Week game celebrating its connections with Indigenous communities, and hosts the Vicky Cleary Game - an annual domestic violence awareness event dedicated to the late sister of club legend Phil Cleary. Junior players competing in the EDFL have a clear pathway to the VFL senior program, making the junior club a vital development hub for young players in Melbourne's north. The club also has a FIDA Football League team competing in division-level football for players with intellectual disabilities.

Coburg, Victoria

Coburg is an inner northern suburb of Melbourne, located approximately 8 kilometres north of the CBD in the City of Merri-bek local government area. It is a diverse, multicultural suburb with a strong community identity, well-served by public transport and known for its vibrant Sydney Road shopping precinct. The suburb's football culture is anchored by the Coburg Football Club, which has represented the area at the highest levels of Victorian football since 1891.

The Lions compete in the EDFL junior competition and call Barry Plant Park (Coburg City Oval) home. Visit the junior club page on the Coburg Football Club website, and follow them on Instagram for the latest match photos and club updates.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
