Culcairn Lions Banners - Celebrate the Pride of Country Footy

Out in the Riverina, a milestone game deserves a proper send-off. FootyBanners.com creates fully custom banners that put the Lions name on display and make every big moment in a player's career one they'll never forget.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles. Send us the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Sam Lawson, #4, 150 Games - and we take care of the rest. Our banners use permanent weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper that can handle a blazing NSW Riverina afternoon on the boundary line.

Two Players, One Banner

Celebrating two milestones on the same day? Our Two Player Banner is a brilliant way to honour both players at once. Just provide the names and guernsey numbers and we'll produce a quality banner the whole club will be talking about.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Our Team Banner option covers 3 to 6 players and includes a fully customisable top line - try something like "Part of the Pride!" to capture the Lions spirit. A fantastic way to send a group of players out onto the ground in style.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Whether they go up in the clubrooms, the shed, or the lounge room, they're a proud reminder of what it means to wear the Lions badge in Culcairn.

Grand Final Banners

Going all the way? Our 4.5m and 5.5m Grand Final Banners can be fully personalised with your own top and bottom text. Reach out and we'll help you design the perfect banner for your Culcairn Lions Football Club Grand Final.

About Culcairn Lions Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Culcairn Lions Football Netball Club was founded in 1895, making it one of the oldest community sports clubs in the southern Riverina region of New South Wales. The club has competed across multiple local competitions throughout its long history, including the Tallangatta & District Football League, before joining the Hume Football Netball League (HFNL) in 1992. According to the club's own website, it is proud to be one of the region's oldest community sports clubs, with a history spanning more than 130 years.

Club History

During their time in the Tallangatta & District Football League, the Culcairn Lions claimed senior premierships in 1953 and 1963. Since joining the Hume Football Netball League in 1992, the Lions have added two HFNL senior premierships - in 1993 and 2007 - and have appeared in five HFNL senior grand finals in total, according to Wikipedia's Hume FL records. The club has also won reserve grade titles in 1993, 1996, 2009, and 2010, plus thirds premierships in 2000, 2006, and 2007, reflecting sustained success across multiple grades.

Culcairn has produced two AFL players through the Hume Football League pathway: Sam Schulz, who was drafted to the Greater Western Sydney Giants in 2012, and Jeremy Finlayson, who also joined the Giants in 2015. Finlayson went on to play over 100 AFL games across GWS and Port Adelaide, establishing himself as one of the most notable footballers to emerge from the Culcairn region.

Home Ground

The Culcairn Lions play their home matches at Culcairn Sportsground in Culcairn, NSW. The ground serves as the hub of football and netball activity for the entire Culcairn community throughout the season, hosting both senior and junior competitions. Like many country grounds in the Riverina, it provides a genuine bush football atmosphere, with strong local crowds supporting both codes across the winter season.

Community and Programs

The Culcairn Lions Football Netball Club fields teams in both Australian rules football and netball, with the netball arm forming a strong part of the club's identity. The Hume Football Netball League officially merged its football and netball competitions in 2018, and Culcairn has been a consistent participant in both codes. The club also runs junior football and netball programs, giving young people in Culcairn and surrounding districts opportunities to participate in organised sport from an early age. The club's annual events - including the club ball - are important social fixtures for the wider Culcairn community.

  • Footy Banner Information

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
