North Geelong Magpies Football Club Banners - Marking Magpies Milestones with Pride

When a Magpies player hits a milestone worth celebrating, FootyBanners.com is here to help the North Geelong Football and Netball Club do it in style. From 50 games to 300, we create personalised banners that honour every achievement.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles. Provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Liam Schultz, #17, 150 Games. Our banners are made with permanent, weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper - built to last through even the most bitter Geelong winter matchday.

Two Players, One Banner

Two Magpies sharing a milestone game? Our Two Player Banner celebrates both players on one quality banner. Just provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the milestone and we'll take care of the rest.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Got 3 to 6 players all reaching milestones on the same day? Our Team Banner is the perfect way to honour everyone together. Use a top-line message like "Go Magpies - Milestone Round!" and make it a game day to remember.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick, recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Whether displayed in the North Geelong FNC clubrooms or a player's home, they're a lasting tribute to a proud Magpies career.

Grand Final Banners

Our Grand Final Banners come in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text. If you need design advice, contact us - we're happy to help the North Geelong Magpies Football Club create a banner worthy of the occasion.

About North Geelong Magpies Football Club

Origins and Founding

The North Geelong Football and Netball Club was established in 1876, making it one of the oldest Australian rules football clubs in Victoria and among the oldest in the country. According to the club's Wikipedia page, the club was formally founded in 1876 - just two years after the Geelong Football Club itself - and has been competing in the Geelong region continuously since that time. The Magpies' 150-year history represents an extraordinary contribution to football in regional Victoria.

Club History

The North Geelong FNC competes in the Geelong and District Football Netball League (GDFNL). The club has won 18 senior premierships, 11 reserves premierships, and 7 Under-18s premierships, including a dominant period in the 1950s when the Magpies won seven premierships in a row and eight premierships in ten years between 1949 and 1958. Further senior flags came in 1925, 1930, 1968, 1969, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1993, 2002, 2013, and 2025. In 1959, the club even considered joining the Victorian Football Association as the VFA was expanding at the time, but ultimately remained in the Geelong competition.

North Geelong also fielded a women's team in Division 1 of the Victorian Women's Football League in 2015, before being elevated to the VFL Women's competition in 2016 (playing as the Geelong Magpies). After the Geelong Cats took over the VFLW licence in 2017, North Geelong Women continued in the AFL Goldfields Women's Football League, going through the 2017 season undefeated and winning the Grand Final against Redan. The club has produced numerous VFL and AFL players including Tom Arklay, Andrew Bews, and Angie Muller.

Home Ground

The Magpies play their home games at Osborne Park, located on Swinburne Street in North Geelong. The ground has long been the spiritual home of the club and sits at the centre of the North Geelong community. The precinct at 1 Swinburne Street also serves as the club's administrative base and hosts the club's netball and junior competitions during the winter season.

Community and Programs

North Geelong FNC fields senior men's and women's football teams, reserves, Under-18s, and a range of netball sides. The club's juniors feed through from the surrounding North Geelong community, and the club takes pride in its role as a family-friendly destination for sport in the Geelong area. The Magpies are recognised in the community as a club where longevity and loyalty are values shared by players, volunteers, and supporters alike.

North Geelong

North Geelong is a suburb of Geelong situated approximately 75 kilometres south-west of Melbourne, in Victoria's Barwon region. Geelong is Victoria's second-largest city and a major industrial and commercial hub. North Geelong itself is a residential and light industrial suburb bordering the North Shore and Corio Bay estuary, with strong working-class sporting traditions. The Geelong region has been a powerhouse of Victorian Australian rules football for over 150 years.

The Magpies compete in the Geelong and District Football Netball League and call Osborne Park, North Geelong home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

  • Footy Banner Information

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
