About Zillmere Eagles Australian Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Zillmere Eagles trace their roots to Windsor FC, established in 1923, which won thirteen QAFL premierships before merging with the neighbouring Zillmere Football Club in 1962 to form Windsor-Zillmere FC.

Club History
Windsor-Zillmere added four more QAFL flags between 1975 and 1988, before a 1991 merger with Sandgate created North Brisbane FC, premiers in 1995, taking the club's combined tally to 18 QAFL premierships won between 1929 and 1995. Financial difficulties forced the club into recess in 1996, and a re-financed 'Northern Eagles' emerged in 1997, taking the Zillmere Eagles name in 2005. In October 2008 the AFL Queensland licence was transferred to neighbouring Aspley, but Zillmere reformed a senior side in 2013, going undefeated that year and adding QFA premierships in 2016 and 2017. The club has produced a remarkable list of AFL and AFLW talent over the decades, including Brendan Whitecross, Josh Drummond and Zac Smith on the men's side, and AFLW stars Tayla Harris and Ally Anderson.

Home Ground
The Eagles play at O'Callaghan Park on Zillmere Road, a home ground with a capacity of 15,000.

Community and Programs
Zillmere fields women's teams in the AFL Queensland Women's League alongside junior sides, continuing its role as a community pathway club in Brisbane's north.

Zillmere
Zillmere is a suburb of about 9,323 people (2021 census), located 13 kilometres north of Brisbane's CBD. Originally known as Zillman's Waterholes after Lutheran missionary Johann Leopold Zillmann, the area was settled by small farmers growing pineapples and pigs in the 19th century.
