Dampier Sharks Banners - Celebrate Every Milestone at Windy Ridge

Whether it's a player's 50th game or a grand final appearance under the blazing WA sun, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that do justice to every Sharks milestone. Our banners are made to be seen at Windy Ridge Oval and beyond.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles. For a player banner, simply provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jake Taylor, #7, 100 Games. All banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper designed to hold up through a blazing Pilbara afternoon without losing their impact.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Sharks are hitting the same milestone on the same day, our Two Player Banner lets you celebrate them together. Just provide both names and guernsey numbers and we'll create a quality banner worthy of the occasion.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Celebrating a squad of 3 to 6 players? Our Team Banner is the perfect option. Feature a bold top-line message like "Go Sharks!" and list every player being honoured. A fantastic way to mark a special round or club night for the Dampier faithful.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to last. Hang a Sharks banner in the clubrooms, garage, or games room and keep the memory alive long after the siren sounds.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, our Grand Final Banners feature fully customised top and bottom text to set the scene for the biggest game of the season. Contact us for design advice and let us help Dampier Sharks Football Club make a statement on grand final day.

About Dampier Sharks Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Dampier Sharks Football Club was established in 1970, born from the enthusiasm of workers at Hamersley Iron who formed two rival sides in the emerging Pilbara town of Dampier. Originally known as the "Centrals", the club competed in the West Pilbara Football League before expanding its ambitions. In 1974 the Centrals officially renamed as the Tigers, but when the club reached out to join forces with the De Grey League in Hedland, a Tigers team was already established there. The club adopted the identity of the Dampier Sharks, cementing its place as a distinct force in regional football.

Club History

The Sharks have built one of the most impressive records in the North Pilbara Football League, claiming league premierships in 1973, 1974, 1983, 1984, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 - including four consecutive titles from 2021 to 2024. The Reserves have also been consistent performers, premiering in 1984, 1985, 2006, 2021, 2022, and 2023, and the Women's side claimed its first league premiership in 2024. The club has produced notable VFL/AFL talent, including Dean Cox, who went on to have a distinguished AFL career, and Zac Langdon, who developed his skills at Windy Ridge before reaching the national stage.

Home Ground

The Sharks call Windy Ridge their home, a community ground located in Dampier, 14 kilometres from the city of Karratha. In 1983, Windy Ridge was the hub of Dampier's sporting life, hosting cricket, softball, rugby, and darts alongside football. The ground was transformed by the installation of six lighting towers - a landmark development supported by Hamersley Iron - making Windy Ridge one of the most well-lit ovals in the region.

Community and Programs

The Dampier Sharks field senior League, Women's, and Reserves sides, with a separately organised junior football program run through Dampier Sharks Junior Football Club. The club is deeply embedded in the Dampier community, running social events and maintaining strong family connections that trace back to its founding families. Longtime member Brendan Bell, who played over 200 games for the Sharks and later served as coach, committee member, president, and life member, exemplifies the deep community bonds the club fosters.

Dampier

Dampier is a coastal industrial town in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, located 14 kilometres from the city of Karratha and roughly 1,530 kilometres north of Perth. With a population of 1,275 at the 2021 Census, Dampier is a tight-knit community built around the port and ore processing facilities that have driven the Pilbara's iron ore industry since the 1960s. The town is known for the Dampier Archipelago, stunning coastal scenery, and a strong tradition of community sport - with Australian rules football at its centre.

The Sharks compete in the North Pilbara Football League and call Windy Ridge home. Visit the club website for fixtures and news, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for match day updates.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
