About Carine Junior Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Carine Junior Football Club, known as the Carine Cats, was established in 1981 when the Stirling City Council completed the development of the Carine Open Space from former swampland and laid the foundations of a football oval. Founding members saw the opportunity and, at short notice, sought registration, assembled a committee, and gathered sponsorship to equip the club for its first year. The first officially recorded meeting was held at Poynter Primary School on 16 February 1981, with approximately 100 players and five teams entering the competition. The club's aim from inception was to provide players the opportunity to learn football skills in an atmosphere of good sportsmanship.
Club History
In 2015 the club celebrated its 35th anniversary. Over that period, the Carine football program has developed into one of Perth's strongest junior nurseries, producing a remarkable list of AFL, AFLW, WAFL, and WAAFL players. Notable alumni include Mitch Duncan (Geelong), Darren Glass (West Coast Eagles), Simon White (Carlton), Guy McKenna (West Coast Eagles, and later Head Coach of the Gold Coast Suns), Mark Nicoski (West Coast Eagles), Charlie Thomas (West Coast Eagles AFLW), and Luke Kentfield (Melbourne FC). In 2010, five players from the club were selected in the national AFL Draft in a single year, an extraordinary result for a community junior club.
Home Ground
The Carine Cats play at Carine Open Space, the ground that inspired the club's foundation in 1981. Located in Carine, the oval is part of a community park and recreation area that has been the club's home for over four decades. The ground is shared with other community sporting programs in the area.
Community and Programs
Carine JFC runs junior football programs spanning multiple age groups and has a strong alignment with the senior club at Hamersley Carine AFC, which competes in the WA Amateur Football League (WAAFL). The club provides pathways for players from Auskick through junior grades, with many progressing to senior competition at the local WAAFL level and beyond. The club's strong junior development focus is evidenced by the volume of representative and elite players it has produced over its history.

Footy Banner Information
Material: All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet. They are fully recyclable.
How to Use: We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through. There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon! This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.
Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.Pro Tip: Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
