About Warnbro Swans Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Warnbro Swans Football Club has its roots in the mid-1980s, when a group of football enthusiasts in the rapidly growing Warnbro area of Perth's southern corridor established a junior football club to cater for the suburb's young residents. As Warnbro expanded as part of the broader development of Perth's Rockingham corridor during the 1980s, the demand for organised football grew. The club then established a senior side in the late 1980s, and in 1991 formally joined the Western Australian Amateur Football League, now known as the Perth Football League. This transition marked the Swans' arrival as a fully-fledged senior club competing in Perth's established amateur football competition.
Club History
Since joining the Perth Football League in 1991, the Warnbro Swans have competed across various divisions of the competition, reflecting the growth and development of the club as the Warnbro and broader Rockingham area expanded. The Swans have navigated the rises and falls typical of suburban community clubs, developing loyal membership and building an identity closely tied to the Warnbro community. The club's history in the Perth Football League spans more than three decades, representing a significant period of community sport that has coincided with the transformation of the southern Perth metropolitan corridor into one of Western Australia's most populated areas.
Home Ground
The Warnbro Swans play their home matches at grounds in the Warnbro area of Rockingham, south of Perth. Warnbro sits within the City of Rockingham, a coastal local government area approximately 40 kilometres south of the Perth CBD. The suburb's sporting reserves and facilities have developed alongside the community itself, providing the Swans with a home base that serves the football club as well as other community sporting and recreational activities throughout the year.
Community and Programs
The Warnbro Swans run senior men's and women's teams as well as junior programs, catering to football players of all ages from across the Rockingham region. The club's junior program, which predates the senior team and gave rise to the whole club in the mid-1980s, remains central to the Swans' community identity. The club places a strong emphasis on developing local talent and providing a welcoming environment for players, families, and supporters from the Warnbro and broader Rockingham community. Women's football has grown significantly in recent years across the Perth Football League, and the Swans have embraced this expansion as part of their community program.
Warnbro
Warnbro is a residential suburb in the City of Rockingham, situated approximately 44 kilometres south of the Perth CBD along Western Australia's southern coastal corridor. The suburb was developed in the 1970s and 1980s as Rockingham expanded outward toward the southern suburbs of Perth, and today it is a well-established community of predominantly residential housing. Warnbro faces Safety Bay and the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, a significant coastal reserve protecting an area known for its penguin colony at Penguin Island. The City of Rockingham as a whole has a population exceeding 145,000 people, making it one of Perth's largest southern local government areas and providing a substantial base for community sport.

Footy Banner Information
Material: All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet. They are fully recyclable.
How to Use: We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through. There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon! This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.
Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.Pro Tip: Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!
