About Quinns Districts Amateur Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Quinns Districts Amateur Football Club (Bulls) was established in 1993 to serve the rapidly growing northern coastal suburbs of Perth, including Ridgewood, Clarkson, Quinns Rocks and surrounding areas. The club competes in the Perth Football League (formerly the WAAFL/Amateurs) and is based at Ridgewood Oval, Ridgewood. The associated Quinns Districts Junior Football Club (sharing the "Bulls" identity) was also established in 1993 and provides football for approximately 800 children aged 5 to 17 from the northern suburbs community, operating from Anthony Waring Reserve in Clarkson.
Club History
The Quinns Districts AFC has competed in the Perth Football League since 1993, building a stable senior men's program in an area of Perth that has seen significant residential growth over three decades. The club fields senior men's, women's and masters teams, reflecting the broad demographic of the growing Wanneroo corridor. The Bulls have celebrated over 20 years of continuous competition in the Perth amateur football competition. The adjacent junior club at Clarkson caters to over 800 children annually, making the broader Quinns Districts football program one of the largest community football operations in Perth's northern suburbs. Both the senior and junior arms of the club play under the same "Bulls" identity and share community ties throughout the Quinns Rocks-Clarkson-Ridgewood area.
Home Ground
The Quinns Districts AFC seniors play their home games at Ridgewood Oval, located at 15 Ridgewood Boulevard, Ridgewood WA. The Quinns Districts Junior Football Club plays from Anthony Waring Reserve in Clarkson. Ridgewood Oval serves as the hub for the senior club's football activities, with men's and women's teams training there on weekday evenings throughout the season.
Community and Programs
The Quinns Districts community football program includes senior men's, senior women's, masters football and a StarKick All Abilities Program for players with disabilities. The junior club operates AusKick (Pre-primary to Year 2), modified rules (Year 3 to Year 6) and full youth/open rules (Year 7 to Year 12), with dedicated all-girls competitions. The senior amateur club has over 1,800 Facebook followers and approximately 950 Instagram followers under @quinnsdistrictafc. Both the senior and junior clubs play an important role in building community in Perth's fast-growing northern corridor.
Ridgewood and Quinns Rocks, Perth
Ridgewood is an outer suburb of Perth, located approximately 37 kilometres north of the Perth CBD in the City of Wanneroo. The suburb recorded a population of 4,623 at the 2021 census. Neighbouring Quinns Rocks is a beachside suburb on the Indian Ocean coast, renowned for its surf beach and relaxed coastal lifestyle. The broader City of Wanneroo is one of Western Australia's fastest-growing local government areas, with the Clarkson-Ridgewood-Quinns Rocks corridor experiencing significant residential development since the 1990s.

-
-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
