Simple to Order

Select from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options. For player banners, just provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Chris Henderson, #22, 150 Games. All banners feature permanent, weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper, ready for the heat of a blazing South Australian afternoon at the oval.

Two Players, One Banner

If two Eagles teammates share the same milestone on the same match day, our Two Player banner is the perfect option. Provide both players' names, guernsey numbers, and the milestone they share, and we'll produce one quality banner that honours them both.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

When a round sees 3 to 6 players all hit milestones at once, our Team Banner brings the celebration together. Top-line text like "EAGLES MILESTONE ROUND" with all players listed below makes for a memorable moment for the entire Hummocks Watchman Eagles club.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, crafted from thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. They're a great way to keep an Eagles milestone alive on the clubroom wall, in a garage, or in a dedicated footy room at home.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, our Grand Final banners are fully customised with top and bottom text of your choice for the Hummocks Watchman Eagles Football Club. Contact us and we'll help you get the design right for a memorable finals campaign.

About Hummocks Watchman Eagles Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Hummocks Watchman Eagles Football Club was formed in 1995 through a merger of two Adelaide Plains Football League (APFL) clubs - the Hummocks Watchman Bulldogs and the Port Wakefield Eagles. The Port Wakefield Eagles traced their own origins to 1893, making them one of the oldest football clubs in the region. The Hummocks Watchman Bulldogs had themselves been created in 1985 from the amalgamation of Hummocks United (founded 1964) and Watchman Auburn (founded 1975). This layered merger history means the Eagles carry the legacy of several generations of country football from the mid-North and Adelaide Plains communities.

Club History

Since joining the Adelaide Plains Football League in 1995, the Hummocks Watchman Eagles have established themselves as one of the competition's most successful clubs. The Eagles have won six APFL senior premierships: 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2019. Their predecessor club, Hummocks United, added a remarkable eleven APFL titles between 1964 and 1981, making the Eagles' lineage one of the most decorated in the league's history. The club took a brief break from the competition in 2020 before returning in 2021. Their 2019 premiership remains the club's most recent senior flag.

The APFL, which was founded in 1909 as the Adelaide Plains Football Association, is an affiliated member of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). The competition draws clubs from the farming towns and coastal communities north of Adelaide, and the Eagles' dual-town identity reflects the closely connected nature of these regional communities.

Home Ground

The Eagles are unusual among country clubs in maintaining two home grounds. Port Wakefield Oval serves as the primary venue in the town of Port Wakefield, while Lochiel Oval at the small township of Lochiel provides a secondary home base. This arrangement reflects the club's origins as a merged entity representing two distinct communities along the Adelaide Plains. The Lochiel connection dates back to the Hummocks United era, when Lochiel Oval was the club's long-standing home ground from 1964 through to the formation of the Eagles in 1995.

Community and Programs

The Eagles operate as a combined football and netball club, with the club Facebook page describing them as serving football and netball across both communities. The club's motto - "One Club. One Community. One Goal." - reflects its role as a unifying social institution for the Port Wakefield and Lochiel areas. Like many APFL clubs, the Eagles support junior pathways that feed talent into the senior competition, helping to sustain football culture across the sparsely populated Adelaide Plains region.

Port Wakefield

Port Wakefield is a town on the Gulf St Vincent approximately 99 kilometres north-west of Adelaide city centre, sitting at the mouth of the Wakefield River. With a population of around 593 people (2021 census), it is the largest centre in the Wakefield Regional Council area. The town was originally named Port Henry before being renamed around 1849. It is a well-known stop on the main Adelaide to Port Augusta highway route, and sits at the fork where traffic diverges toward the Yorke Peninsula. The 1955 Australian Grand Prix was held at the Port Wakefield Circuit east of the township, adding a notable chapter to the town's history.

The Eagles compete in the Adelaide Plains Football League and call Port Wakefield Oval and Lochiel Oval home. Follow them on Facebook for news and match day updates.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
