Kangarilla Blues Banners - Celebrating Over a Century of Community Football
Whether it's a milestone game, a grand final celebration, or a special end-of-season tribute, FootyBanners.com is proud to create custom banners for the Kangarilla Blues and their loyal supporters. Honour the moments that matter most in the Adelaide Hills.
Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner formats. To personalise your banner, provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Darcy Fielke, #16, 100 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, your banner will hold up through every cold Adelaide Hills winter afternoon at Kangarilla Recreation Ground.
Two Players, One Banner
Two Blues reaching the same milestone on the same day? Our Two Player banner lets you honour both players side by side. Just provide each player's name, guernsey number, and milestone for a standout double celebration.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Celebrate 3 to 6 players at once with our Team Banner option. A banner reading "Kangarilla Blues - Our Champions" is an outstanding centrepiece for your end-of-season awards night or grand final celebration in the Hills.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, our Wall Keepsake Banners are crafted on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to last for years. Hang them in the Blues clubrooms, a garage, or the games room as a lasting tribute to a great career in the Adelaide Hills.
Grand Final Banners
Take the field in style with a Grand Final banner in 4.5m or 5.5m, fully customised with your top and bottom text. Contact us for design guidance and make sure the Kangarilla Football Club runs out looking absolutely brilliant on the big day.
About Kangarilla Blues Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Kangarilla Football Club was first formed in 1901, making it one of the oldest Australian rules football clubs in South Australia. Over more than a century, the Blues (also known as the Kangas or Double Blues) have competed across multiple regional competitions in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula. The club first played in the Alexandra Football Association from 1913, before moving to the Southern Football Association in 1916, then the Hills Central Football Association (HCFA) from 1923. After a period as part of the Mount Bold Football Club (formed by a merger with Clarendon FC in 1962), Kangarilla reformed as an independent club in 1966.
Club History and Competition
Following their 1966 reformation, Kangarilla entered Hills Football League (HFL) competition, competing in various divisions over subsequent decades. The club spent time in the Southern Football League from 1981, gaining promotion to Division 1 in 1984, before returning to the Hills Football League in 2006 where they currently compete in Division 2. Kangarilla continue to field both senior and junior teams in the HFL.
Premierships
Kangarilla's most successful era came during their time in the Hills Central Football Association, where the Blues won six A-Grade premierships in an eight-year stretch: 1935, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1940 and 1946, as well as the B-Grade flag in 1953. After reformation, the club won the HFL Southern Zone premiership in 1970, three HFL Division 3 flags (1973, 1974 and 1978), the HFL Division 2 premiership in 2006, and four Southern Football League Division 2 titles (1982, 1987, 1999 and 2000). In total, Kangarilla has claimed more than fifteen premierships across all grades and competitions throughout their history.
Home Ground
The Blues play their home games at Kangarilla Oval on Main Road in Kangarilla, which has served as the club's home base throughout their long history. The oval sits in the heart of the Kangarilla community and hosts both senior and junior fixtures throughout the Hills Football League season.
Kangarilla and the Adelaide Hills
Kangarilla is a rural locality in the southern Adelaide Hills, situated approximately 33 kilometres south of the Adelaide city centre. Part of the City of Onkaparinga local government area, the locality recorded a population of 905 in the 2021 Census. The area sits on the northern edge of the Fleurieu Peninsula, characterised by rolling hills, vineyards, and open agricultural land close to the McLaren Vale wine region. Football has been a constant in the Kangarilla community since 1901, with the club serving as one of its longest-running institutions.

-
-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
