Freeling Redlegs Banners - Celebrate Every Milestone in Style
Whether it's a milestone game or a career achievement worth cheering about, FootyBanners.com is the go-to choice for Redlegs fans. Order a fully custom banner using the Redlegs name and honour the players who give everything for the club.
Simple to Order
A Single Player Banner is the perfect way to mark a milestone game. Just provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jake Anderson, #7, 100 Games. Your banner is printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to withstand a dusty South Australian afternoon at the footy. Options include Single Player, Two Player, Team, and Grand Final banners.
Two Players, One Banner
When two teammates are sharing the same milestone game, our Two Player Banner lets you celebrate them both on the same banner. Provide both players' names and guernsey numbers, and we'll create a quality banner worthy of the occasion.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Got 3 to 6 players all reaching milestones in the same game? Our Team Banner option is the answer. Choose a standout top-line message like "REDLEGS MILESTONE LEGENDS" and let your whole squad know how much they're valued. A great way to bring the club together around a shared achievement.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks and built to last. Perfect for hanging in the Redlegs clubrooms, a garage, or a games room as a lasting reminder of a special day in footy.
Grand Final Banners
For the biggest game of the season, we offer Grand Final Banners in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes. Both come with fully customised top and bottom text to reflect the Freeling Redlegs Football Club. Contact us for design advice and we'll help you make an unforgettable entrance.
About Freeling Redlegs Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Freeling Football Club was established in 1890, making it one of the longest-running clubs in the Barossa and Light region of South Australia. The club competed in the Barossa and Light Football Association (BLFA), which was formally inaugurated in 1908 with Freeling among its founding members alongside Angaston, Kapunda, Nuriootpa and Tanunda. In 1987, the BLFA merged with the Gawler and District Football League to form the Barossa Light and Gawler Football Association (BLGFA), and the Redlegs have been competing in that competition ever since.
Club History
The Redlegs claimed their first and only BLGFA senior premiership in 1994, defeating the competition in what remains the club's greatest achievement at association level. The BLGFA is a nine-team competition that covers the Gawler, Light Plains and Barossa Valley region and sits as an affiliated member of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). While the club's single premiership title reflects the fierce competition within the BLGFA - where Nuriootpa Rover (9 titles) and Tanunda (8 titles) have historically dominated - Freeling's 135-year presence in the competition speaks to the club's enduring strength and community resolve. In 2022, Freeling's women's program merged with neighbouring Kapunda to form a combined side known as the Light Wheaties, competing in BLGFA women's football from 2022 onwards.
Home Ground
The Redlegs play their home games at Redlegs Park on Cherry Street, Freeling SA 5372. The ground bears the club's own nickname and serves as the social and sporting hub of the Freeling community. The club's contact and registration details are listed on PlayHQ.
Community and Programs
The Freeling Redlegs are deeply embedded in the life of the Freeling community, providing football pathways for players of all ages in the Light Region. The club runs junior competitions that feed into the senior program, helping develop players from the surrounding farming towns and communities that characterise this part of South Australia. The club's women's partnership with Kapunda via the Light Wheaties, launched in 2022, reflects a broader commitment to growing participation and ensuring every member of the community has a pathway into the game.
Freeling
Freeling is a small agricultural town in the Light Regional Council of South Australia, situated approximately 60 kilometres north of Adelaide and adjacent to the renowned Barossa Valley wine region. At the 2021 census, Freeling had a population of 2,688. The township was surveyed in March 1860 and named after Major-General Sir Arthur Henry Freeling, Surveyor-General of South Australia from 1849 to 1861. The surrounding farmland is among the most productive cereal-growing country in Australia, and the town is also known as a filming location for the popular Australian television series McLeod's Daughters. The University of Adelaide's Roseworthy Campus is situated nearby, drawing students and agricultural professionals to the area. The Redlegs compete in the Barossa Light and Gawler Football Association and call Redlegs Park home. Follow the club on Facebook and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.
