Birdwood Roosters Banners - Celebrate the Mighty Flying Roosters

Whether it's a milestone game, a special round, or a moment worth honouring forever, FootyBanners.com makes it easy to create a custom banner for the Flying Roosters. From first appearances to 100-game legends, a Roosters banner is the perfect way to mark the occasion.

Simple to Order

Choose from a Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner. For player banners, simply provide the name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jake Wilson, #7, 50 Games. All banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to handle even the sharpest Adelaide Hills winter wind.

Two Players, One Banner

Sharing a milestone with a mate? The Two Player banner is the perfect way to recognise two Roosters at once. Both players need to share the same game milestone, and you'll need each player's name and guernsey number. A high-quality keepsake for two proud footballers.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Celebrate the whole squad with a Team Banner featuring 3 to 6 players. Use your top line to rally the troops - something like "Fly High Roosters!" sets the tone perfectly. A brilliant way to fire up the boys before they run through it.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to last. Hang your Flying Roosters banner in the clubrooms, the garage, or the games room and relive the memories every day.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m, Grand Final banners for the Birdwood Football Club feature fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice and we'll make sure your banner looks the part on the biggest day of the season.

About Birdwood Roosters Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Birdwood Football and Netball Club has roots stretching back to the 1880s, when Australian rules football first took hold in the Adelaide Hills town of Birdwood. The club was a founding member of the Torrens Valley Football Association (TVFA) when that competition was formally established in 1921, giving the Roosters one of the longest and proudest histories of any club in the Hills region. When the TVFA and the Hills Central Football League merged in 1967 to form the Hills Football League (HFL), Birdwood was among the founding member clubs competing in the new competition's Northern Division.

Club History

The Roosters have been regular finals contenders throughout their time in the HFL and have claimed six Division 2 (Country Division) premierships - in 1973, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1992, and 1994. The mid-1970s run of three consecutive flags from 1975 to 1977 stands as the club's most dominant era. Birdwood has also produced three players who went on to AFL careers: Scott Burns (drafted to Norwood in 1992, played for Collingwood), Darren Pfeiffer (drafted in 2005, played for Adelaide, Carlton, and Port Adelaide), and Sam Colquhoun (drafted to Central Districts in 2013, played for Port Adelaide). The club currently competes in Division 2 of the Hills Football League.

Home Ground

The Roosters play their home games at Birdwood Oval, located in the main street of Birdwood at 1056 Torrens Valley Road. The ground is a community facility managed by Adelaide Hills Council as part of Birdwood Park, which also features soccer grounds, a modern playground, and shelter areas. The oval sits at the heart of the township, making it easily accessible for locals and visitors travelling through the Hills.

Community and Programs

The Birdwood Football and Netball Club runs junior and senior programs across multiple grades, including Mini Colts, Junior Colts, and Senior Colts, alongside A Grade and B Grade senior sides. Birdwood FC claimed the Country Division Junior Colts (Under 16) premiership in 2023 and the Country Division Mini Colts title in both 2020 and 2021, underlining the strength of the club's junior pathway. The netball arm of the club runs alongside the football program, making the BFNC a genuine family club for the Birdwood community. Annual events and social functions bring past players and supporters together to celebrate the club's long history.

Birdwood

Birdwood is a small town in the Adelaide Hills, situated approximately 40 kilometres north-east of the Adelaide CBD in the Mount Barker Council area. It sits in the Torrens Valley and is best known as the home of the National Motor Museum, which houses one of the largest collections of historic vehicles in the southern hemisphere. The town has a strong community spirit and a predominantly rural character, with the annual Birdwood Hill Climb and various community events drawing visitors from across South Australia each year.

The Roosters compete in Division 2 of the Hills Football League and call Birdwood Oval home. Follow the club on Facebook for match results, news, and event updates, and find them on Instagram for match day content and club highlights.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
