Athelstone Raggies Banners - North-East Adelaide's Proudest Club

When the Athelstone Raggies take the field on a cool Adelaide morning, a custom-designed FootyBanners.com run-through banner sets the tone for everything that follows. The Raggies have built a proud identity in the north-eastern suburbs and a great banner helps carry that identity onto the field from the very first moment.

Simple to Order

Ordering an Athelstone Raggies banner is easy. Upload a player photo, add the message you want, and our design team creates the artwork. A proof comes back to you for sign-off before printing begins, so the finished banner is exactly right for game day.

Two Players, One Banner

Two Raggies together on one banner is a great way to celebrate a standout partnership or recognise co-captains who have carried the club all season. The two-player banner is one of our most popular designs and creates an image both players and the whole club will be proud of.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Celebrate the full squad with a team banner for end-of-season presentations or club milestone nights. Every Athelstone Raggies player gets their place in a group photo that captures what the team achieved together across a long, hard season.

Wall Keepsake Banners

A wall keepsake banner is a lasting tribute to a great season or a memorable moment in the Raggies' history. Hang it in the clubrooms, gift it to a retiring favourite, or display it at home as a permanent reminder of what the club means to the Athelstone community.

Grand Final Banners

When the Athelstone Raggies reach the grand final, the occasion deserves a banner built for the moment. Our grand final banners are crafted for the biggest game of the season and ensure every Raggie runs out knowing exactly what they have worked all year to achieve.

About Athelstone Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Athelstone Football Club was established in 1904 by a group of local market gardeners who, lacking proper guernseys, pulled on hessian bags when they took the field. Those improvised strips of rag gave the club its enduring nickname: the Raggies. The club has been a cornerstone of community sport in Adelaide's north-east ever since, celebrating more than 120 years of football history.

Club History

The Raggies competed in the South Australian Amateur Football Association (SAFA) for decades, winning premierships in 1978, among other seasons, before joining the Adelaide Footy League (formerly SAAFL) in 1996. The club operates out of the Paradise area and has experienced multiple promotions and premierships across the divisions of the AFL South Australia competition. In 2022 the club opened brand-new state-of-the-art clubrooms after the previous premises had stood for 45 years, marking a significant milestone in the club's modern era.

The club runs senior men's, women's, an inclusive football program, junior, and masters competition. The women's and girls' programs have grown strongly over recent years, and the club continues to develop pathways for players at all levels of ability.

Home Ground

The Raggies play their home games at Torrens Valley Oval in Paradise, a ground that has served the club for many years and sits within easy reach of the Athelstone and Paradise communities. The construction of new clubrooms on the site in 2022 provided a modern, purpose-built facility that supports the club's growing programs across all age groups and genders.

Community and Programs

Athelstone FC fields teams in the AFL South Australia competition across senior men's, senior women's, inclusive football, junior, and masters grades. The club prides itself on being a welcoming, family-orientated environment that has served the north-east Adelaide community for over 120 years. Community events, club social activities, and player development programs ensure the Raggies remain deeply connected to their local area.

Athelstone

Athelstone is a suburb located approximately 10 kilometres north-east of the Adelaide CBD, within the City of Campbelltown local government area. With a population of approximately 9,802, the suburb is characterised by a pleasant mix of residential housing, parklands, and the Torrens River corridor. Athelstone is often described as having a country feel within close proximity to the city, making it a popular choice for families seeking space and community.

The Raggies compete in the Adelaide Footy League and call Torrens Valley Oval, Paradise home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

  • Footy Banner Information

All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.

We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it.  if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.

On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
