Origins and Founding
Mawson Lakes Football Club - nicknamed the Saints - is an Australian rules football club based in Mawson Lakes, a planned suburb in the City of Salisbury in northern Adelaide, South Australia. The club competes in the Adelaide Footy League (AdFL), playing in the lower divisions of the metropolitan competition. The Saints were established to serve the growing residential community that developed around the Mawson Lakes precinct from the late 1990s onward, when extensive suburban development transformed the area into one of Adelaide's fastest-growing communities.

Club History
Mawson Lakes has competed across various divisions of the Adelaide Footy League, including Division 6 and Division 7 during the 2020s. The club has faced significant challenges in recent years, including player and volunteer shortages that led the Saints to announce they would not field senior sides in the 2026 AdFL season. In response to these difficulties, the club entered merger discussions with the Greenacres Football Club (Dragons) to combine their resources for the 2026 season. Despite these challenges, the Saints have maintained an active social media presence through their Instagram account (@mlfcsaints) and Facebook page, demonstrating ongoing community engagement during a difficult period for the club.
