About Woodville South Football Club
Origins and Founding
Woodville South Football Club, known as the Cats, was established in 1890 under the name Carlton Football Club, making it one of the oldest football clubs in South Australia. The club adopted the Woodville South identity after operating for decades in the western suburbs of Adelaide. Woodville South FC competes in the Adelaide Footy League, the primary amateur Australian rules football competition in South Australia, which brings together community clubs from across the metropolitan area.
Club History
The Cats have amassed an exceptional premiership record across their long history in Adelaide community football. Senior premierships were won in 1906, 1919, 1939, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2017, 2019, and 2023, a total of fifteen flags spanning over a century of competition. The club also enjoyed a dominant era in 1947, when it won gold and blue division titles after entering the West Torrens District League. Earlier in club history, the West Torrens competition delivered premierships in 1918, 1919, and 1920. The Woodville South Cats are widely regarded as one of South Australia's most successful and storied community football clubs.
Home Ground
Woodville South FC trains and plays at Ledger Reserve, located in Woodville South, SA 5011. The reserve is a well-maintained community oval in the City of Charles Sturt, situated within the compact western suburban corridor of Adelaide. Ledger Reserve serves as both the senior match-day venue and the training base for the club's senior men's, women's, and junior programs.
Community and Programs
Woodville South FC fields senior men's and women's teams in the Adelaide Footy League as well as junior sides through the Woodville South Junior Football Club. The club is affiliated with the Woodville South Sports and Community Club, which supports football alongside other local sports. The junior program actively recruits young players from the surrounding suburbs of Pennington, Mansfield Park, and Woodville, serving as a pathway into senior community football. The Cats maintain a strong culture of local identity, with many multi-generational families represented in the club's membership.

Footy Banner Information
All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.
We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
