Henley Sharks Banners - Sharks Rule the Western Coast
When the Henley Sharks take to the field beside the sea on a cool Adelaide afternoon, a custom-designed FootyBanners.com run-through banner captures the coastal spirit and competitive energy that makes this club special. A great banner gives every Shark the perfect entrance into a game their community has been looking forward to all week.
Simple to Order
Ordering a Henley Sharks banner is easy. Upload a player photo, add the message you want, and our design team creates the artwork. A proof is sent back to you for sign-off before printing, so the finished banner is exactly right for game day.
Two Players, One Banner
Two Sharks together on one banner is a powerful way to celebrate a standout combination or honour co-captains who have led the club with real distinction. The two-player banner creates an image both players and the whole club will be proud of for years.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Celebrate the full squad with a team banner for end-of-season presentations or club milestone events. Every Henley Sharks player gets their place in a group photo that captures what the team achieved together across a full season of coastal Adelaide football.
Wall Keepsake Banners
A wall keepsake banner is a lasting piece of Henley Sharks history. Hang it in the clubrooms, give it to a retiring club favourite, or display it at home near the beach as a permanent reminder of what the club means to the Henley community.
Grand Final Banners
When the Henley Sharks make the grand final, the western coastal community backs them every step of the way. Our grand final banners are made for the biggest game of the season and ensure every Shark runs out knowing the full significance of the day.
About Henley Sharks Football and Netball Club
Origins and Founding
The Henley Sharks Football and Netball Club traces its roots in western Adelaide football back to 1899, making it one of the longer-established clubs in its region. The modern incarnation of the Sharks emerged in 1994 from a merger between the Henley District and Old Scholars Football Club (founded in the 1970s) and the Greek Football Club, which united two community football traditions on Adelaide's western coast. The club has been formally known as the Henley Sharks Football and Netball Club since 1998, reflecting its expanded community role.
Club History
Since 1994, the Sharks have been a consistent member of the Adelaide Footy League (then the South Australian Amateur Football League), competing at Max Basheer Reserve in Henley Beach. The women's program was established in 2017 when Henley joined the Adelaide Footy League women's competition, achieving strong results from their first season. The Sharks compete in Division 2 of the Adelaide Footy League men's competition, placing them among the stronger clubs in the metropolitan competition. The club fields senior men's, senior women's, and junior teams, making it a comprehensive football and netball organisation.
Home Ground
The Sharks play at Max Basheer Reserve in Henley Beach, South Australia. The reserve provides facilities for the club's senior and junior football teams as well as their netball program, and is located close to the beach in one of Adelaide's most sought-after coastal suburbs.
Community and Programs
Henley Sharks Football and Netball Club runs active junior programs that connect young players from Henley Beach and the surrounding western suburbs to Australian rules football and netball. The club's inclusion of netball alongside football reflects its commitment to serving the broader sporting community. With over 3,900 followers on their Facebook page and 2,200 on Instagram, the Sharks maintain a strong community connection year-round.
Henley Beach
Henley Beach is a coastal suburb in the City of Charles Sturt, approximately 11 kilometres west of the Adelaide CBD on the Gulf St Vincent. The suburb is known for its broad white sand beach, the Henley Square entertainment precinct, and a strong community character. The area is popular with families and has a well-established sporting culture, with the Sharks serving as a central institution in the local community for more than 30 years under their current identity.
The Sharks compete in Division 2 of the Adelaide Footy League and call Max Basheer Reserve, Henley Beach, home. Visit the club website, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.
Footy Banner Information
All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.
We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
