Bell Park Dragons Banners - Geelong's Dragon Country Since 1958
The Bell Park Football Club has been a proud part of the Geelong community since 1958, and FootyBanners.com is here to help the Dragons celebrate every milestone with a custom banner that reflects the club's rich history and culture.
Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options and provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone (for example, Josh Maher, #16, 100 Games). Banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper that handles a cold and blustery Victorian afternoon in Hamlyn Heights.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Dragons players share a milestone on the same match day, our Two Player banner celebrates them both in one great design. Provide both players' names and guernsey numbers and we'll take it from there.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
For groups of 3 to 6 players celebrating together, our Team Banner option covers the whole squad in one design. Set a top-line message like "Breathe Fire Dragons!" and give your players a run-through that the whole club will remember.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners are available in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. A brilliant keepsake for the Dragons clubrooms or a lasting display at a supporter's home.
Grand Final Banners
When the Dragons are playing for the flag, step up with a Grand Final banner in 4.5m or 5.5m. Top and bottom text is fully customised for Bell Park Football Club. Contact us for wording and design support ahead of the big day.
About Bell Park Sport and Recreation Club (Dragons)
Origins and Founding
Bell Park Sport and Recreation Club was established in 1958, following a 1957 resolution by the Bell Park Progress Association to create sporting facilities for the suburb's rapidly growing population. The Bell Park area had expanded significantly in the early 1950s with European migrants and refugees who settled after World War II, and the new club provided a focal point for the community. The Dragons began with a single football team playing in borrowed jerseys - humble beginnings that would grow into one of Geelong's most comprehensive community sports clubs. The name "Dragons" and the green and white guernsey have since become synonymous with the Bell Park community.
Club History
Bell Park originally competed in the Geelong District Football League (GDFL) before joining the Geelong Football Netball League (GFNL) in 1979. The Dragons have won four GFNL senior premierships - in 1984, 1991, 2003, and 2011. The 2003 grand final was unique, ending in a draw against St Mary's and shared. The 2011 premiership, over South Barwon, remains the club's most recent flag. In recent seasons the Dragons have also been represented in the AFL Barwon All Abilities competition, demonstrating a broad commitment to inclusive football across the community.
Home Ground
The Dragons play their home games at Hamlyn Park in Bell Park. The ground serves as the central hub for the club's junior, women's, and All Abilities teams. Hamlyn Park has hosted decades of Bell Park football history and continues to be the focal point for match days, training, and club events across AFL, cricket, and netball programs.
Community and Programs
Bell Park Sport and Recreation Club now supports a wide range of programs, including senior men's and women's AFL, junior male and female football, an All Abilities team, Auskick for younger children, the Dragon DNA junior development program, and both senior and junior netball. Cricket is also offered through the Bell Park Cricket Club. The club's inclusive ethos stretches back to its origins in a culturally diverse suburb, and that spirit of community remains central to everything the Dragons do. The club's motto reflects its founding values: passion, teamwork, and dedication.
Bell Park
Bell Park is a residential suburb of Geelong, located approximately 6 kilometres north-west of the Geelong city centre in the City of Greater Geelong. With a population of around 5,009 at the 2016 census, Bell Park is shaped by its post-war history of European migration. The suburb was named after the Bell Park homestead of early settler John Bell, and its multicultural roots - including a Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox church community - continue to define its character. Bell Park is bordered by Norlane, North Geelong, Hamlyn Heights, and Bell Post Hill.
The Dragons compete in the Geelong Football Netball League and call Hamlyn Park, Bell Park home. Visit bellparkdragons.com.au, follow them on Facebook, and follow on Instagram for news and match day updates.

-
-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
