About Budgewoi Buff Point FC

Origins and Founding

Budgewoi Football Club was established in 1961, making it one of the longest-running soccer clubs on the Central Coast of New South Wales. The club was founded to serve the communities of Budgewoi and neighbouring Buff Point, small lakeside suburbs situated on the northern edge of Budgewoi Lake and Tuggerah Lakes. From its earliest years the club built a reputation as a family-friendly community institution, with multiple generations of local families having played under its banner over more than six decades.

Club History

Budgewoi FC competes in Central Coast Football, the governing body for association football across the region. The club has fielded men's senior, women's senior, and junior teams across multiple grades. In recent years the club has enjoyed a particularly successful run of results, with the men's first grade side winning the Division 1 league championship and grand final in both 2022 and 2023. The reserve grade side also claimed the 2023 Division 1 grand final. The women's first grade team matched that success with back-to-back league championships and grand final victories in 2022 and 2023, having also won the Division 1 grand final in 2019 and the First Grade grand final in 2021.

At junior level, the club's under-14s and under-15s both won league championships and grand finals in 2023, with the under-16s claiming the league title in 2021 and appearing in the 2020 grand final. The club maintains a Player of the Year award dating back to 1979, honouring outstanding performers across the senior grades each season.

Home Ground

The club plays at Budgewoi Soccer Oval on Millington Way, Buff Point, postcode 2262. The ground sits close to the shoreline of Budgewoi Lake, providing a distinctive setting for home matches. The facility serves as the hub for all senior and junior training and competition, and is the base from which the club coordinates its registration and community programs.

Community and Programs

Budgewoi FC runs junior programs covering age groups from the youngest age-appropriate levels through to under-18s, giving local children a structured pathway into the game. The addition of a women's senior team has expanded the club's reach, with that team achieving rapid success after its establishment. A dedicated Facebook history group, Budgewoi FC History, preserves old photos, stories and memories from across the club's six-plus decades of existence, attracting more than 620 followers from the local community.

Buff Point and Budgewoi

Buff Point is a small residential suburb on the Central Coast of New South Wales, recorded in the 2021 census with a population of approximately 3,559. It sits adjacent to Budgewoi, a neighbouring lakeside community, both located roughly 90 kilometres north of Sydney via the Pacific Motorway. The area is defined by its proximity to the Tuggerah Lakes system, a chain of interconnected coastal lagoons popular for fishing and water activities. The broader Central Coast region is one of the fastest-growing areas in New South Wales, and community sport remains a central part of life for many local families.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
