Coburg Districts Football Club Banners - Honour Every Lions Milestone
At FootyBanners.com, we craft custom banners that celebrate the achievements of every Coburg Districts Lions player with the pride and passion the club deserves. From a player's first senior appearance to a career-defining milestone, our Mighty Lions banners are built to make the moment unforgettable.
Simple to Order
Getting your Lions Single Player Banner made is easy. Just supply the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and their milestone - for example, Tom Richards, #11, 50 Games. We print with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper that stands up to the chill of a Melbourne winter's night at Cumberland Reserve. Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options to suit the occasion.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Lions reach the same milestone in the same game, our Two Player Banner gives them both the recognition they deserve. Provide both players' names and guernsey numbers, and we'll produce a quality banner celebrating their shared achievement in Lions style.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Celebrating a group of standout players? Our Team Banner covers 3 to 6 players in one impressive design. Add a top-line message such as "Mighty Lions - Best and Fairest Nominees" to set the tone, and close with a rallying team tagline. A great way to bring the Pascoe Vale faithful together for any special occasion.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper using waterproof inks that won't fade over time. Whether it takes pride of place in the Coburg Districts clubrooms, a supporter's garage, or a player's home, a Lions Keepsake Banner is a memento worth cherishing for years to come.
Grand Final Banners
Our Grand Final Banners are available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes and can be fully personalised with your chosen top and bottom text to send the Coburg Districts Lions onto the ground with maximum impact. Contact us for design advice and let's create a Grand Final banner that gets the Mighty Lions fired up and ready to roar.
About Coburg Districts Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Coburg Districts Football Club was formed in 1951 under the name Batman FC, taking its name from John Batman, the colonist credited with founding Melbourne in 1835. The club operated in Pascoe Vale from the outset, and in 1981 it was renamed the Coburg Districts Football Club to better reflect its connection to the broader local community. That same year, the club affiliated with the Essendon District Football League (EDFL) and began fielding both junior and senior sides in the competition.
Club History
After fielding junior and senior teams in the EDFL from 1981 to 1987, the club faced a difficult period when a shortage of junior numbers led the EDFL to end its affiliation from the 1988 season. The Lions responded by seeking a new home in the then Footscray District Football League (FDFL) - now known as the Western Region Football League - and promptly won the FDFL premiership in their first season in 1988. The club returned to the EDFL in 2013 and has remained in that competition since. In 2019, AFL Victoria announced Coburg Districts as the winner of its 'How Inclusive is your Club' competition, recognising the club's extensive efforts to create a welcoming environment for women in football - including co-training sessions with the men's team, female trainers, and a Female Football Coordinator on the club's committee.
Home Ground
The Mighty Lions play their home games at Cole Reserve on Cumberland Road in Pascoe Vale, a ground that has long been central to the club's identity and daily operations. Cole Reserve is one of several parks and sporting reserves in Pascoe Vale managed under the City of Merri-bek local government area. The ground is accessible via the Craigieburn train line at Pascoe Vale station and tram route 58, which runs along the suburb's main corridors.
Community and Programs
Coburg Districts runs a full range of football programs including men's, women's, boys and girls teams, as well as Auskick for younger children. The club's commitment to inclusivity - recognised formally by AFL Victoria in 2019 - reflects a genuine focus on making football accessible to all members of the community, regardless of background, experience or fitness level. The club has retained a strong connection to its founding families, many of whom remain involved in club operations across multiple generations. Pascoe Vale
Pascoe Vale is a suburb 9 km north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Merri-bek local government area. The suburb recorded a population of 18,171 at the 2021 census and is known for its multicultural character, with Italian, Arabic, Greek and Turkish communities all well represented. The suburb takes its name from John Pascoe Fawkner's 1839 property "Pascoeville", and is home to a range of parks and green spaces including Cole Reserve, Austin Reserve and Gavin Park, all managed by the City of Merri-bek. Pascoe Vale railway station on the Craigieburn line provides direct access to Melbourne's CBD, and the suburb is further served by tram route 58 and multiple bus routes.
The Mighty Lions compete in the Essendon District Football League and call Cole Reserve, Pascoe Vale home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and check the club's social media for news and match day updates.

Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
