About Cockburn Cobras Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Cockburn Cobras Football Club traces its origins to the early 1980s, when a social team of employees at Cockburn Cement began playing friendly matches against other company sides. This informal competition evolved into the Mercantile Football Association (MFA) in 1993, and the Cockburn Cement Football Club became a founding participant. The club formally adopted the name Cockburn Cobras Football Club in 2003 when it moved to its current home at Davilak Oval and entered the Perth Football League.

Club History
During the MFA years (1993-2003), the club proved to be a dominant force, winning the league premiership in 1993, 1995, 1997, and 1999, and finishing runners-up in 1994, 1996, 1998, and 2000. As the Cockburn Cobras in the Perth Football League, the club added league premierships in 2005, 2006, and 2008. In 2010 a reserves side was introduced, and in 2017 an inaugural Colts team was added to the program. The club subsequently joined the Western Australian Amateur Football League (WAAFL). Further premierships followed: the C4 Reserves in 2018, the C4 League in 2019, and the C4 Women's in 2022. The men's League side reached the C3 Grand Final in 2023, and in 2025 the Cobras were promoted to the C1 grade for the 2026 season. The club has over 500 players and supporters.

Home Ground
The Cobras play at Davilak Oval on Rockingham Road in Hammond Park, in the City of Cockburn. The club moved to Davilak Oval in 2003 and it has served as the home for the Cobras' growing senior and junior programs. The City of Cockburn has supported the club through sporting equipment grants and ongoing community investment.

Community and Programs
Cockburn Cobras fields senior men's, senior women's, reserves, colts, and junior teams through its main club and the affiliated Cockburn Junior Football Club. The club values respect, integrity, and a selfless team attitude. Its women's program entered competition in 2018 and has grown steadily, reaching finals in 2021 and 2023. The club runs an inclusive, family-friendly environment for players from the southern suburbs of Perth.

City of Cockburn
The City of Cockburn is a local government area in the southern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, covering communities including Success, Hammond Park, Yangebup, Munster, and Coogee. The area has grown significantly as part of Perth's southern corridor expansion and is home to a diverse, growing community with strong sporting participation rates.
