About College Junior Football Club (CJFC)

Origins and Founding

The College Junior Football Club (CJFC) is a community Australian rules football club based in Sale, Victoria, competing in the Sale and District Junior Football Association (SDJFA). The club takes its name from the College precinct of Sale and was established to give young players from that area and the surrounding district a structured pathway into junior football. CJFC operates as a fully junior club, focused on participation, skill development, and sportsmanship at every age group.

Club History

College JFC is one of ten member clubs in the SDJFA, which fields more than 700 junior participants across its affiliated clubs. The association runs age-group competitions from Under 9s through to Under 15s, offering a clear progression pathway from beginner play through to more competitive junior football. Sale itself has one of the oldest football traditions in Victoria's Gippsland region - the Sale Football Netball Club (the Magpies) was founded in 1877 and joined the Gippsland Football Association in 1889. College JFC draws on this deep local football culture, giving Sale's youngest players the opportunity to develop a lifelong connection to the game. The club fields teams across multiple age groups each season, with registrations managed through PlayHQ.

Home Ground

College JFC plays its home games at Stephenson Park in Sale. The ground serves as a central hub for junior football in the Sale area, and AFL Gippsland uses the venue for school holiday programs and community football activities for children aged 5 to 12. Stephenson Park provides a dedicated junior football environment with facilities suited to grassroots participation. The club's registered address is 1A Cunningham Street, Sale 3850.

Community and Programs

CJFC describes itself as a fun, inclusive club focused on participation, sportsmanship, and player growth, with new players welcome at all age groups. The club welcomes both boys and girls, and its committee runs the club independently for the benefit of its junior members and families. AFL Gippsland regularly supports the Sale junior football community through holiday programs and development activities, with College JFC part of the broader AFL Gippsland network that promotes the game across East Gippsland.

Sale

Sale is the largest city in the Shire of Wellington and serves as the council capital of the region, situated in the Gippsland area of Victoria approximately 212 kilometres east of Melbourne. As of the 2022 estimate, Sale had a population of around 15,305 residents, making it one of the principal service centres for East Gippsland. The city is known for its proximity to the Ninety Mile Beach, the Gippsland Lakes, and the Latrobe Valley, and has a strong regional sporting culture across football, netball, cricket, and rowing.

College JFC compete in the Sale and District Junior Football Association and call Stephenson Park, Sale home. Follow College JFC on Facebook for news, match results, and information about joining the club.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
