About Wanderers Softball Club
Origins and Founding
The Wanderers Softball Club was founded in 1975 as the original Camden softball club, making it one of the pioneering softball organisations in the Macarthur region of New South Wales. The club was established in large part through the efforts of Neidra Hill, who served as president from 1975 to 1998 and was later honoured with life membership. As listed by Softball Australia, the Wanderers are formally described as "The Founding Club since 1975" within the Macarthur softball community. The Macarthur District Softball Association was also established in 1975, with the Wanderers as its founding anchor club.

Club History
Now marking more than 50 years of operation, the Wanderers Softball Club has grown from its origins as a single community team into a full multi-age club serving players from age 4 through to adults. The club competes as part of the Macarthur District Softball Association, and its representatives have gone on to play at state and national levels. The club's longevity reflects its reputation as a family-oriented, inclusive environment where community participation is valued as highly as on-field performance.

Home Ground
The Wanderers Softball Club plays its home games at Cowpasture Reserve, 18 Camden Valley Way, Camden. The reserve is a multi-sport facility within the Camden area, servicing both senior and junior competitions throughout the club's September to March season. Wednesday evenings host Under-7 and Under-9 Teeball, while Saturdays feature Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 Youth, and Senior competitions.

Programs and Community
The Wanderers cater for all ages from 4 years to seniors, with a particular emphasis on Teeball as a pathway into softball for the youngest players. The club is structured as a family-based organisation that values friendship, skill development, and inclusion, with an aim of welcoming the broader Camden and Macarthur community to the sport. Senior players and long-serving volunteers contribute to an environment where multi-generational participation is common.

Elderslie and the Camden District
Elderslie is a residential suburb within the Camden Council local government area in New South Wales, located approximately 62 kilometres southwest of Sydney. The suburb recorded a population of 7,878 at the 2021 census and sits along Camden Valley Way near the Nepean River. The wider Camden district is one of the fastest-growing regions in Australia, and the Wanderers Softball Club has served its community continuously through the area's significant growth since 1975.
The Wanderers compete in the Macarthur District Softball Association and call Cowpasture Reserve, Camden home.
