Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options. Provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Mia Renner, #14, 50 Games. Banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper, perfect for a bitter Melbourne winter at A.H. Capp Reserve in Preston.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Falcons hit milestones in the same game, our Two Player Banner captures both achievements on one quality banner. Provide each player's name and guernsey number and we'll take care of the rest.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
The Team Banner option accommodates 3 to 6 players, making it ideal for end-of-season events and squad recognitions. A top-line message like "Darebin Falcons - Proud and Strong" captures the club's spirit perfectly. A brilliant way to celebrate the team together.

About Darebin Falcons
Origins and Founding
The Darebin Women's Sports Club, nicknamed the Falcons, was founded in 1990 in Melbourne's northern suburbs. The club's origins trace back to the Fairfield Falcons, a team in the Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL) that had nearly dissolved after losing most of its players. A group of women from Northcote, many with no prior football experience, stepped in to revive the club, training at Fairfield Park through 1990 with around 30 players before rejoining the VWFL competition in 1991. The club was renamed the Darebin Falcons to reflect its broader community base in the City of Darebin.
Club History
The Darebin Falcons became one of the dominant forces in women's Australian rules football in Victoria, winning 11 premierships across two competitions. The club won its first VWFL title in 1996 and then embarked on an extraordinary run of success, appearing in every grand final from 2005 to 2015 and winning the premiership in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015 - eight flags in eleven seasons. When the VFLW was established in 2016, the Falcons continued their success, winning back-to-back VFLW premierships in 2016 and 2017. The club is the only VFLW club not affiliated with a national AFLW or AFL club. Darebin has a long reputation as a developer of elite talent, producing AFLW stars including Daisy Pearce (Melbourne), Katie Brennan (Western Bulldogs), Darcy Vescio (Carlton), Elise O'Dea (Melbourne), and Lauren Arnell (Western Bulldogs). The Falcons also compete in the Northern Football Netball League across multiple grades.
Home Ground
The Falcons have been based at AH Capp Reserve in Halwyn Crescent, Preston since July 2005, when the club moved from McDonell Park. AH Capp Reserve was developed as part of the infrastructure upgrades for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and includes football, soccer and cricket grounds alongside change rooms and social facilities, all set alongside the Merri Creek. The club also uses Bill Lawry Oval, La Trobe University grounds, and Preston City Oval for various competitions.
Community and Programs
Beyond football, the Darebin Women's Sports Club is one of Victoria's largest women's sporting organisations, fielding approximately 550 players across multiple sports as of 2018. The club runs 29 soccer teams, making it the organisation with the largest number of girls and women playing soccer in Victoria. The club also fields cricket, eight-ball and masters football teams. Youth girls football teams compete in the Northern Football League, and a junior football program provides pathways for the next generation of Falcons.
Preston
Preston is an inner northern suburb of Melbourne, located approximately 9 kilometres north of the CBD within the City of Darebin. The suburb is well-served by public transport including the South Morang (Mernda) and Hurstbridge train lines and frequent tram services, and is known for its multicultural community, vibrant Preston Market, and High Street retail precinct. Preston sits alongside the Merri Creek corridor, which forms part of Melbourne's broader trail network and provides green space connecting the northern suburbs. The suburb has a strong working-class and immigrant history, and the Darebin Falcons are a significant part of its sporting identity.
The Falcons compete in the VFLW and Northern Football Netball League and call AH Capp Reserve home. More information is available at falcons.org.au, and the club can be followed on Facebook and Instagram.

Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
