Donvale Football Banners - Made for Every Milestone

Whether it's a significant games milestone, a hard-fought finals appearance, or a day the whole club won't forget, FootyBanners.com creates personalised banners that do justice to every Donvale player's achievement. Each banner is custom-made with the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - a keepsake to proudly display for years to come.

Simple to Order

Choose from a Single Player Banner, Two Player Banner, Team Banner, or Grand Final Banner - then just supply the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone (for example, Paul Nguyen, #5, 100 Games). Every banner is printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, tough enough for any Melbourne weather on the Donvale sidelines.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Donvale players hit the same milestone in the same match, a Two Player Banner captures both of them - with both names and guernsey numbers on one quality banner the crowd will love.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

A Team Banner fits 3 to 6 players and is perfect for group milestones, club anniversaries, or premiership glory. Add a custom message at the top and let FootyBanners.com put the finishing touch on your club's celebration.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks - designed to be displayed in the clubrooms, garage, or games room as a lasting tribute to every Donvale footballer.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m lengths, Grand Final Banners feature fully customised top and bottom text to set the stage for Donvale's biggest day. Contact FootyBanners.com for personalised design advice for the Donvale Football Club's next grand final.

About Donvale Football Netball Club

Origins and Founding

The Donvale Football Club was founded in 1971 as Donvale United, competing in the Eastern Suburban Churches Football Association (ESCFA) under the requirement that all clubs be aligned to a local church. The club won its first match on 17 April 1971, defeating Highfield Road by 59 points, and went on to reach the grand final in their debut season before being narrowly defeated. They avenged that loss the following year, winning the A Grade premiership in 1972 under coach John Henderson by 48 points over Box Hill Pioneers. The club repeated as premiers in 1973 and added a further ESCFA flag in 1977, building a reputation for disciplined, hard-running football in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs.

Club History

The Donvale Football Club joined the Eastern Football League (EFL) in 1992, changed its name from Donvale United to simply Donvale in 1993, and immediately established itself at the higher level - winning the Division 3 premiership in an undefeated 1992 season. The club continued its rapid rise by claiming Division 2 in 1994, and capped an extraordinary decade with the Division 1 premiership in 1996. They were Division 1 runners-up in 1995, 1998 and 2001, and won the Division 2 premiership again in 2001. The club now competes in Division 3 of the Eastern Football Netball League (EFNL), which was formed when the Eastern Football League incorporated a formal netball competition to create the current competition structure. The club is nicknamed the Magpies.

Home Ground

Donvale Football Netball Club plays its home matches at Donvale Reserve in Donvale, Victoria - a ground the club has called home since its foundation in 1971. Donvale Reserve is situated in the leafy suburban district of Donvale in Melbourne's outer east, within the City of Manningham local government area. The reserve provides facilities for both football and netball competitions and serves as the hub for the club's senior, junior boys, junior girls and women's programs. Training nights and match day activities at Donvale Reserve draw the local community together each week throughout the winter season.

Community and Programs

Donvale FNC fields senior men's and women's football teams, as well as junior boys and girls programs that collectively form the backbone of the club's community presence in Donvale and surrounding suburbs. The club actively recruits junior players and encourages participation from new families each season. Under the banner of "bleed green," the Magpies have built a passionate supporter base drawn from across Manningham. The club runs a netball arm that competes alongside the football program under the EFNL competition structure, providing a complete sporting home for families in the area.

Donvale

Donvale is a leafy residential suburb in the City of Manningham local government area, situated approximately 22 kilometres east of Melbourne's CBD. The suburb is known for its bushland character, mature tree canopy, and semi-rural lifestyle that has made it popular with families seeking space and greenery within reach of Melbourne. Donvale had a population of approximately 12,000 at the 2021 Census. The suburb is served by bus routes connecting to Box Hill, Ringwood and Doncaster, and the Eastern Freeway provides quick access to Melbourne's CBD. Donvale's semi-rural feel has remained largely intact despite surrounding suburban development.

The Magpies compete in Division 3 of the Eastern Football Netball League and call Donvale Reserve home. Follow them on Facebook and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy
