East Malvern Knights Football Banners - Celebrate the Mighty Knights

From a young player's first milestone to an end-of-season team celebration, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners for the East Malvern Knights that make every moment feel truly special. Whether it's a landmark game or a squad achievement, we'll help your Knights celebrate in style.

Simple to Order

Order a Single Player Banner by providing the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Archie Moore, #12, 50 Games. Our banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper built to handle a cold Melbourne day at DW Lucas Reserve. A lasting keepsake for every Mighty Knight.

Two Players, One Banner

Celebrating two Knights at once? Our Two Player Banner brings both milestones together on a single premium banner - just provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the milestone being recognised. Double the pride, one great banner.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Rally the whole squad with a Team Banner featuring 3 to 6 players. Set a message like "East Malvern Knights - Mighty Together" and give your team something they'll remember long after the final siren. The perfect way to cap off any season.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks - perfect for the clubrooms, the bedroom, or the games room. A forever reminder of life as a Mighty Knight.

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us early for personalised design advice when the East Malvern Knights are headed for finals day.

About East Malvern Junior Football Club

Origins and Founding

The East Malvern Junior Football Club (EMJFC), known as the Knights, has roots stretching back to 1927, when junior teams first played within the East Malvern Football Club (EMFC, known as the Blue Knights). The junior teams competed within the broader EMFC structure, fielding age groups from Under-9s to Under-14s. After the senior club folded in 1985 due to financial difficulties, following 57 years in operation, the future of junior football in East Malvern was uncertain. A new EMJFC Committee met for the first time on 17 March 1986 and the club was formally incorporated on 2 July 1986 with four junior teams entered in the Waverley Junior Football Association (WJFA). Peter Duncan was elected the club's first president.

Club History

From its 1986 re-founding with just four teams, the Knights have grown into one of the larger junior football clubs in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. By 2011 the club celebrated 25 years and fielded its highest-ever team count of 24 teams - 23 boys and 1 Youth Girls - setting a record 6 Under-9 sides in that season. Following the cessation of the Waverley Junior Football Association at the end of 2008, the Knights transitioned to the Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League (MSJFL) for boys competition, while Youth Girls teams compete in the Yarra Junior Football League.

In 2025 the club had 795 players representing the Knights across 38 teams, from Under-8s through to Youth Girls. The club heads into its 2026 season with pre-season training already underway for older age groups, continuing its tradition as a cornerstone junior sporting institution in the East Malvern community.

Home Ground

The Knights play their home games at DW Lucas Reserve, Dunlop Street, East Malvern, located adjacent to Darling Station on the Glen Waverley/Alamein rail lines. The ground and clubhouse are shared with the East Malvern Football Netball Club (seniors) and the East Malvern Tooronga Cricket Club, making it a genuine multi-sport community hub. The club also uses Basil Reserve, Stanley Grose Reserve, and Gardiner Reserve (adjacent to Gardiner Station) as additional grounds for its 38 teams throughout the season.

Community and Programs

EMJFC is conducted entirely on a volunteer basis by parents and friends of the club. Boys programs run from Under-8s to Under-17s in the MSJFL competition, while youth girls compete in the Yarra Junior Football League. The club draws players from East Malvern, Malvern East, Glen Iris, Ashburton, and surrounding inner south-eastern Melbourne suburbs. With 38 teams and nearly 800 registered players in 2025, EMJFC is a prominent community club that provides football opportunities to hundreds of local children each season.

East Malvern

East Malvern is an inner south-eastern suburb of Melbourne, located within the City of Stonnington approximately 12 kilometres from the CBD. The area is known for its established residential character, strong community sporting culture, and proximity to the Gardiner Creek Trail and Hedgeley Dene Gardens. East Malvern is well-served by public transport via the Alamein and Glen Waverley train lines, with Darling and Gardiner stations both adjacent to club grounds.

The Knights compete in the Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League and call DW Lucas Reserve in East Malvern home. Visit the club website for more information and follow them on Facebook for news and match day updates.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
