Essendon Doutta Stars Banners - Honour Every Milestone at Buckley Park
When a Douttas player hits a major games milestone, a custom banner from FootyBanners.com is the perfect way to mark the moment. We create fully personalised banners for players at all levels of the Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club.
Simple to Order
Select a Single Player Banner and provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Sam Rossi, #22, 100 Games. All banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper, tough enough to hold up through a blustery Melbourne winter morning at Nipper Jordan Oval. Player Banners, Two Player Banners, Team Banners, and Grand Final Banners are all available.
Two Players, One Banner
If two Douttas players are hitting the same milestone in the same round, our Two Player Banner celebrates both at once. Just provide both players' names and guernsey numbers - both must be marking the same game milestone - and we will take care of the rest.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
The Team Banner option fits between 3 and 6 players on a single banner, ideal when a group of Douttas reaches the same milestone together. Add a top-line message like "Go Douttas!" to fire up the whole club. A great way to reward loyalty and long service at the Stars.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. They look sharp on the clubroom wall, in a garage, or in a games room - a lasting memento for any proud Douttas player or supporter.
Grand Final Banners
FootyBanners.com produces Grand Final Banners in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, with fully customised top and bottom text for Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club. Contact us before finals time for personalised design advice - we love helping clubs make grand final day unforgettable.
About Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club was established in 1946 when a group of returned soldiers in West Essendon came together seeking sporting opportunities after the Second World War. Known simply as the Doutta Stars for their first 65 years, the club affiliated with the Essendon District Football League (EDFL) from its very first season. In 2011, under a new committee, members voted to rename the club Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club to better align with the suburb, following the example of most surrounding EDFL clubs.
Club History
The Douttas have one of the proudest premiership records in the EDFL, claiming A Grade flags in 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1953, 1954, 1957, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1969, 1972, 1980, 1990, 1991, and 1999. Notably, the 1949 and 1957 sides went through their respective seasons undefeated as both premiers and champions of the league. In 1961, the club won both the A Grade premiership and the inaugural Senior C Grade premiership. The club holds the distinction of being the only EDFL club to win back-to-back premierships in different grades - claiming the B Grade flag in 1998 and immediately returning to win the A Grade premiership in 1999. The Stars were relegated to Division 1 in 2014, which prompted the recruitment of former Essendon AFL star Dean Wallis as coach. The club has developed numerous players who went on to compete at AFL level throughout its long history.
Home Ground
The Douttas play at Buckley Park and Nipper Jordan Oval in West Essendon, grounds the club has called home since 1946. Buckley Park is a genuine multi-sport precinct, also hosting the cricket club (since 1967), and the lawn bowls and tennis clubs, making it a hub of community activity across multiple seasons of the year. The ground carries significant history for the local area and remains a focal point for the Essendon sporting community.
Community and Programs
Essendon Doutta Stars fields senior men's, senior women's, and junior teams across the EDFL. The women's program competes in the EDFL Women's Division 1 competition, and the club's long-standing junior program has supplied players to the senior ranks for decades. The club describes itself as equally proud of the community champions it has produced as the football champions - a reflection of the club's broader role in the lives of Essendon residents since 1946.
Essendon
Essendon is an established inner-northern suburb of Melbourne located approximately 10 kilometres north-west of the CBD, within the City of Moonee Valley local government area. With a population of 21,240 recorded at the 2021 census, it is one of Melbourne's most recognisable suburbs, known for its leafy streets, historic homes, and its long association with the Essendon Football Club (AFL). Essendon is well-served by the Essendon railway station and Moonee Ponds Creek corridor, and its tight-knit community sporting culture has been a feature of the area since the post-war era.
The Douttas compete in the Essendon District Football League and call Buckley Park, Essendon home. Visit the club website for news and fixtures, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for match day updates and club news.

-
-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
