Gaza Banners - Southern Adelaide Footy Pride
Nothing fires up a home crowd like a team bursting through a custom-designed run-through banner on a cool Adelaide afternoon. FootyBanners.com creates banners that bring out the best of your club's identity and give every Gaza player that extra surge of energy as they take the field.
Simple to Order
Ordering a Gaza banner is easy. Upload your player photo, add the wording you want on the banner, and our team takes care of the design. You will receive a proof to approve before anything is printed, so the finished product is exactly what you had in mind.
Two Players, One Banner
Two Gaza players side by side on one banner is a powerful statement. Whether it is co-captains, a star combination who have torn up the competition all year, or two long-serving club stalwarts, the two-player banner is one of our most popular designs.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Bring the full squad together on a team banner for end-of-season presentations, milestone rounds, or any occasion that deserves the whole Gaza group in one shot. Every player gets their moment and a photo worth holding onto.
Wall Keepsake Banners
A wall keepsake banner preserves the memories of a standout season long after the last game. Hang it in the clubrooms, gift it to a retiring legend, or display it at home as a permanent piece of Gaza Football Club history.
Grand Final Banners
When Gaza makes the grand final, the occasion deserves a banner that rises to the moment. Our grand final banners are made for the biggest game of the season and ensure every player runs through the paper knowing exactly what is on the line.
About Gaza Eagles Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Gaza Football Club was founded in 1909 in Adelaide's northern suburbs, making it one of the longest-running amateur football clubs in South Australia. After a humble beginning, the club grew into one of the most respected clubs in the Adelaide amateur competition. The club is now known formally as the Gaza Sports and Community Club, based at Klemzig Oval at 232 North East Road, Klemzig - one of Adelaide's most historically significant suburbs. The Eagles play their home games on the oval within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield local government area.
Club History
Gaza FC won its first premiership in 1926, when players changed in a tin shed behind the O.G. Hotel - a detail that speaks to the club's humble but proud origins. The club continued as a consistent force in the Northern Adelaide District Football Association (NADFA) and later the Adelaide Footy League, maintaining a record of almost unbroken participation since 1909. The club has competed in Division 2 for much of its modern history, with a notable milestone in 1978 when they won the Division 3 premiership and were promoted - and had not returned to Division 3 for 41 years as of 2019. Former Adelaide Crows AFL star Andrew Jarman, a Brownlow medallist, played his early football with Gaza before making his SANFL debut with North Adelaide in 1983 at age 17. The Eagles have both senior men's and women's teams in the Adelaide Footy League, plus SANFL Juniors affiliation.
Home Ground
Gaza Eagles play at Klemzig Oval, located at 232 North East Road, Klemzig, SA 5087. The oval is the social and sporting heart of the Gaza Sports and Community Club, which encompasses football, cricket, netball, darts, and eight-ball teams. The clubrooms are a recognised function venue in the northern suburbs. An annual Chrysler car show day at Klemzig Oval - typically drawing over 300 vehicles - reflects the broader community role the club plays beyond sport.
Community and Programs
Gaza SC runs senior men's and women's teams in the Adelaide Footy League as well as junior teams affiliated with the SANFL Juniors competition. The club's multi-sport model - encompassing football, cricket, netball, darts, and eight-ball - makes it one of the most comprehensive community clubs in Adelaide's northern suburbs. The club's annual events and strong social media presence, with over 2,100 Facebook followers, reflect its position as a community hub.
Klemzig
Klemzig is a northern suburb of Adelaide in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, located approximately 7 kilometres north of the Adelaide CBD. The suburb carries deep historical significance as the first permanent settlement of German immigrants in Australia, established in 1838-1839 by Prussian emigrants sponsored by George Fife Angas. Klemzig had a population of approximately 6,672 at the 2021 census. The suburb is part of a diverse, multi-cultural northern Adelaide community bordered by suburbs including Northfield and Windsor Gardens.
The Eagles compete in the Adelaide Footy League and call Klemzig Oval home. Visit the club website for more information and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.
Footy Banner Information
Material: All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet. They are fully recyclable.
How to Use: We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through. There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon! This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.
Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.Pro Tip: Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
