Greensborough Boro's Banners - Celebrate Every Boro's Moment
From milestone games to grand final day, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners built for the Greensborough Boro's. Celebrate your player with a run-through as memorable as their achievement.
Simple to Order
We offer Single Player, Two Player, Team, and Grand Final banner options. To personalise your order, provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Marcus Hill, #33, 150 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, your banner is ready for the coldest Melbourne winter morning at War Memorial Park.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Boro's hit the same milestone, a Two Player Banner is the ideal way to celebrate them both. Provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone for a quality keepsake that honours them side by side.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Feature 3 to 6 players on a Team Banner and make game day something the whole club will remember long after the final siren. A top-line message like "Go Boro's!" captures the heart of a club that's been at the centre of Greensborough footy for generations.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks that stand the test of time. A Boro's keepsake banner looks fantastic in the clubrooms, the garage, or the family games room.
Grand Final Banners
Give the Greensborough Boro's grand final the entrance it deserves with a 4.5m or 5.5m banner featuring fully customised top and bottom text. Contact us and we'll work with you to design something the whole club will be proud of.
About Greensborough Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Greensborough Football Club - known throughout the Diamond Valley region as the Boro's - is one of Victoria's oldest Australian rules football clubs, established in 1893. In their earliest years the club competed in informal local matches against rivals including Diamond Creek and Heidelberg. In 1911 the club was instrumental in forming the Heidelberg District Football Association. In 1922 Greensborough joined the newly formed Diamond Valley Football Association (DVFA) and won the inaugural DVFA premiership that same year - the first of many across the club's storied history. The club's motto, Actis non Verbis (Deeds not Words), reflects a no-nonsense culture built on performance and community pride.
Club History
Greensborough accumulated five DVFA premierships in their first twenty seasons of competition (1922 to 1941), reaching the Grand Final on eight occasions. After the competition restructured as the Diamond Valley Football League (DVFL) in 1946, the Boro's continued as a dominant force, winning premierships in 1952, 1960, 1961, 1966, 1967, 1983, 1984, 1988, and 1989. A difficult period saw the club relegated to Division Two in 2003, but a complete revival followed. In 2006, Greensborough won the Division Two premiership - a historic day when all three senior grades claimed premierships simultaneously - and returned to Division One. When the Diamond Valley FL transitioned to the Northern Football Netball League (NFNL) in 2007, the Boro's came with it. A 2014 NFNL Division One premiership ended a 25-year drought at the top level, and the club remained a consistent finals contender through the 2010s and 2020s, including a near-unbeaten home-and-away season in 2019.
Home Ground
The Boro's play all home games at Greensborough War Memorial Park in Greensborough. The ground has been the spiritual home of the club for decades and serves as the hub for both senior and junior football in the area. The Greensborough Junior Football Club, established in 1964, provides a junior pathway for young players in the region.
Community and Programs
The Boro's are deeply embedded in the Greensborough community, fielding senior men's, senior women's, and netball teams across the NFNL. The club fosters strong links with local schools and junior programs, ensuring a continuous pathway of homegrown talent into the senior sides. Community events, fundraisers, and social functions at the War Memorial Park clubrooms are a regular fixture of club life in the suburb.
Greensborough
Greensborough is a suburb in Melbourne's outer north-east, located approximately 20 kilometres from the Central Business District within the City of Banyule local government area. The area is one of the major commercial and residential hubs of the Diamond Valley corridor, is bordered by the Plenty River and Plenty Gorge Parklands, and has sustained a strong community sport culture since the late 19th century.
The Boro's compete in the Northern Football Netball League and call Greensborough War Memorial Park home. Visit the club website for news and match information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for match day updates.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
