About Happy Valley Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Happy Valley Football Club - nicknamed the Valley Vikings - was established in 1952, initially competing in the Hills Central Football League. The club is located in Adelaide's southern suburbs and has grown over seven decades into one of the more successful clubs in the Southern Football League. In 1964 the club transferred to the Glenelg-South-West District Football Association, and in 1980 joined the Southern Football League (SFL), beginning in Division 2 before earning promotion to Division 1 in 1984.
Club History
Since reaching Division 1 of the SFL, the Valley Vikings have built an impressive premiership record. The club won A-Grade premierships in 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2003, and 2012, making them one of the most decorated clubs in the Southern Football League era. Earlier success came in the Glenelg-South Adelaide FA, with premierships in 1970 and 1974. The club's Wikipedia entry records a string of notable AFL players produced through its programs, including Ben Rutten (Adelaide Crows), Nathan Eagleton (Western Bulldogs and Port Adelaide), Beau Waters (West Coast Eagles), Matthew Rogers (Richmond), Tom McNamara (Melbourne), and Brayden Cook (Adelaide Crows). The club also fields women's senior teams in the Adelaide Football League.
Home Ground
The Valley Vikings play at Happy Valley Sports Park, located in Aberfoyle Park in Adelaide's southern suburbs. The ground serves the club's full range of men's, women's, and junior programs and provides a community-focused venue for one of the Southern Football League's most established clubs. The site is well supported by the City of Onkaparinga and provides training and game-day facilities for players across all age groups.
Community and Programs
Happy Valley FC fields teams in senior and junior grades of the Southern Football League, and also competes in the Adelaide Football League with its women's sides. The club's juniors program provides a key pathway from junior football into the SFL senior grades. The Valley Vikings are known for their community-first culture and the inclusive environment they provide for players from diverse backgrounds across the Aberfoyle Park, Happy Valley, and Chandlers Hill areas.
Happy Valley and Aberfoyle Park
Happy Valley is a southern suburb of Adelaide, located approximately 20 kilometres from the CBD within the City of Onkaparinga. The suburb is named after the Happy Valley Reservoir, which was built in the 1890s and still supplies a portion of Adelaide's water. Aberfoyle Park, where the club's ground is located, sits just to the south and is a well-established family-oriented suburb with strong community sporting traditions. The broader area is part of the rapidly growing southern corridor of Adelaide.
The Valley Vikings compete in the Southern Football League and call Happy Valley Sports Park, Aberfoyle Park home. Visit the Happy Valley FC website for news, fixtures, and membership information, and follow the club on Facebook for match-day updates.
Footy Banner Information
All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.
We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
