Harcourt Banners - Country Footy at the Heart of Victoria
There is something beautifully pure about footy in a Victorian country town, and when Harcourt runs out on a crisp central Victorian afternoon, a custom-designed FootyBanners.com run-through banner makes the occasion something the whole town remembers. Country footy deserves great banners, and we make sure your club gets them.
Simple to Order
Ordering a Harcourt banner is straightforward. Upload a player photo, add the message you want, and our design team takes it from there. You will receive a proof to approve before printing, so the finished banner is exactly as you imagined.
Two Players, One Banner
Two Harcourt players together on one banner is a meaningful way to celebrate a club partnership. Whether it is co-captains, long-serving mates, or two players who have driven the club all season, the two-player banner creates an image the whole community will cherish.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Get the whole squad on a team banner for end-of-season nights or milestone events. In a small community, a full team photograph means everything - every player gets their place in a photo that captures what the group achieved together.
Wall Keepsake Banners
A wall keepsake banner turns a great country footy season into something permanent. Hang it in the clubrooms, give it to a long-serving local legend, or display it at home in the Harcourt community where it belongs.
Grand Final Banners
When Harcourt makes the grand final, the whole town turns out and every player feels the weight of it. Our grand final banners are made for exactly that moment and ensure every player runs out knowing the full significance of what they are about to play for.
About Harcourt Lions Football Netball Club
Origins and Founding
The Harcourt Football Club was established in 1888, making it one of the oldest community clubs in central Victoria. The club originally competed in the Castlemaine District League and won its first senior premiership in 1937, laying the foundation for a proud football culture in the orchard country north-east of Castlemaine. The club has long carried the nickname the Lions, a badge worn with pride across more than 135 years of competition.
Club History
Harcourt has accumulated one of the stronger premiership tallies in the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League (MCDFNL), winning senior flags in 1937, 1971, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2022, and 2023. The back-to-back premierships in 2002-03 and 2006-07 signalled a golden era for the club, and the consecutive flags in 2022 and 2023 confirmed the Lions as the competition's dominant force in recent years. The club celebrated the 50th anniversary of its 1971 premiership in September 2021, reflecting the depth of historical pride within the Harcourt community.
Home Ground
The Lions play their home matches at Harcourt Recreation Reserve, located in the heart of the town. The reserve serves as a central gathering point for the local community on match days and doubles as a venue for club social events throughout the year. Like many country grounds, the reserve carries decades of memories and is deeply woven into the identity of the club and the township it represents.
Community and Programs
The Harcourt Football Netball Club runs both football and netball programs under the one banner, making it a true all-seasons community club. Junior development pathways feed players into the senior ranks and ensure continuity across generations. The club has been recognised for the role it plays in community wellbeing, with long-serving volunteers such as Buzz Nunn, a Harcourt FNC stalwart for 30 years, honoured for their contribution to keeping the club strong. Sponsors, volunteers, and local families form the backbone of the club's operations each season.
Harcourt
Harcourt is a small town in the Central Highlands of Victoria, situated approximately 8 kilometres north-east of Castlemaine along the Midland Highway. With a population of around 1,038 people at the 2021 census, it is a tightly knit rural community best known as Victoria's apple-growing centre. The town hosts the annual Harcourt Applefest, which draws visitors from across the region. The surrounding granite countryside and orchard landscapes give Harcourt a distinctive character that sets it apart from neighbouring towns.
The Lions compete in the MCDFNL and call Harcourt Recreation Reserve home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.
Footy Banner Information
All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.
We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
