Heidelberg Tigers Banners - Warringal Park Milestones Done in Style

From milestone games at Warringal Park to grand final moments in the NFNL, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that bring the Tigers community together. Order yours and celebrate your player the way Heidelberg tradition demands.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles. For a player banner, provide the name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jack Brennan, #9, 150 Games. All banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper that stands up to a bitter Melbourne winter at Warringal Park without missing a beat.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Tigers reach the same milestone together, our Two Player Banner lets you honour them both in one great display. Provide both names and guernsey numbers and we'll produce a quality banner the Heidelberg faithful will remember.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

For 3 to 6 players celebrating together, our Team Banner covers every name with one powerful display. Feature a top-line message like "Go Tigers!" and list every player being honoured. A perfect option for a milestone round or club presentation night.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to last for years. Hang a Tigers keepsake in the clubrooms, garage, or games room and keep the memory of a great season alive.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with fully customised top and bottom text, our Grand Final Banners make the biggest day in the NFNL calendar even more special. Contact us for design advice and let FootyBanners.com help Heidelberg Football Netball Club charge through the banner in style.

About Heidelberg Tigers

Origins and Founding

The Heidelberg Football Club was established in 1876, making it one of the oldest Australian rules football clubs in the country. The club initially competed in the Melbourne Football League before becoming a founding member of the Bourke-Evelyn Football League in 1890, winning its first premiership that same year. In 1903 the club transferred to the Northern Suburban Football League, and in 1909 became a founding member of the Heidelberg District Football League. Heidelberg joined the Diamond Valley Football League (DVFL) in 1923 and has remained in that competition - now known as the Northern Football Netball League (NFNL) - ever since.

Club History

Heidelberg has accumulated more than 20 senior Division 1 premierships in the DVFL/NFNL, cementing a record that few clubs in Melbourne community football can match. The club achieved a landmark result in 2007 when it became the inaugural NFNL Premier and Champion, completing that season undefeated. Heidelberg then won four consecutive premierships from 2006 to 2009, equalling the league record for consecutive flags. After winning the 2016 premiership over Macleod, the club returned to dominance in the 2020s with flags in 2022, 2023, and 2024. The club also holds the DVFL/NFNL record for the longest winning sequence, posting 48 consecutive victories between Round 3, 2008 and Round 10, 2010. Notable alumni who progressed to VFL/AFL include Ty Zantuck (Richmond and Essendon), Justin Murphy (Richmond, Carlton, Geelong and Essendon), Brad Miller (Melbourne and Richmond), and Jess Sinclair (Fremantle and North Melbourne).

Home Ground

The Tigers call Warringal Park in Heidelberg home. The original home ground was Heidelberg Park, but following a recess during World War II the club relocated across Beverley Road to Warringal Park, which has served as the club's base ever since. Warringal Park sits within the broader Warringal Parklands along the Yarra River corridor, providing a picturesque setting for NFNL competition.

Community and Programs

Heidelberg fields sides across multiple competitions, including senior men in NFNL Division 1, senior women in the Northern Football Netball League Women's competition (entered in 2019), and juniors in the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL). The junior arm - the Heidelberg Junior Football Club - provides a clear pathway for players from youth football through to the senior program, and the club has a strong record of retaining locally developed talent.

Heidelberg

Heidelberg is a suburb of Melbourne located 11 kilometres northeast of the CBD in the City of Banyule local government area. It recorded a population of 7,360 at the 2021 census. The suburb is historically significant as one of Melbourne's earliest outer settlements - the land was first sold by Crown auction in 1838 - and is closely associated with the Heidelberg School, a 19th-century impressionist art movement. The area is well served by rail and has a strong residential character with proximity to the Yarra River parklands.

The Tigers compete in the NFNL and call Warringal Park home. Visit the club website, follow them on Facebook, or find them on Instagram.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy
