Marion Rams Banners - The Rams Charge Through

When the Marion Rams charge through a custom-designed FootyBanners.com run-through banner on a cool Adelaide afternoon, the whole ground knows the Rams mean business. A great banner captures the power and determination of a club that has been a fixture in the southern suburbs for many years.

Simple to Order

Ordering a Marion Rams banner is easy. Upload a player photo, add the message you want, and our design team takes care of the artwork. A proof comes back to you for sign-off before printing, so the finished banner is exactly what you had in mind for game day.

Two Players, One Banner

Two Rams side by side on one banner is a powerful image. Whether it is co-captains, a standout combination, or two players who have been outstanding all season, the two-player banner celebrates them both and creates something the whole club will value.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Celebrate the full squad with a team banner for end-of-season presentations or club milestone events. Every Marion Rams player gets their place in a group photo that captures what the team achieved together across a hard season of football.

Wall Keepsake Banners

A wall keepsake banner is a lasting tribute to a great season or a memorable moment in the Rams' history. Hang it in the clubrooms, give it to a retiring legend, or display it at home as a permanent piece of Marion Rams history worth preserving.

Grand Final Banners

When the Marion Rams make the grand final, the occasion calls for a banner that rises to the moment. Our grand final banners are designed for the biggest day of the season and give every Ram the send-off they have earned through months of hard work.

About Marion Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Marion Football Club was established in 1891 as the Sturt Football Club (no relation to the SANFL's Sturt Football Club), making it one of the longest-serving football clubs in Adelaide's southern suburbs. In 1912 the club joined the Sturt Football Association, competing against Blackwood, Mitcham, Brighton, Sturt Ramblers, and Glenelg Imperials. In 1920, Sturt moved to the Mid-Southern Football Association, winning the premiership in that inaugural season. The club's long association with competition name changes mirrored the consolidation of southern Adelaide football across the 20th century. In 1956, the club was renamed Marion Football Club to avoid confusion with the SANFL's Sturt, and the Rams identity has remained ever since.

Club History

The Marion Rams have won 13 premierships: 1920, 1921, 1926, 1931, 1944, 1945, 1951, 1957, 1958, 1967, 2000, 2018, and 2025. During World War Two, the club combined with the Brighton and Seacliff club from 1942 to 1945, winning back-to-back flags in 1944 and 1945. After the Southern Metropolitan Football League folded at the end of the 1986 season, Marion joined the Southern Football League Division 1 competition in 1987. The club moved to the SAAFL (now Adelaide Footy League) in 2018. The 2025 premiership is the club's most recent and most significant, coming 135 years after the club's founding. The Rams have produced two AFL players: Scott Welsh (North Melbourne, Adelaide, Western Bulldogs) and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, who currently plays for St Kilda.

Home Ground

The Marion Rams play their home games at Sturt Oval in Marion, a fitting nod to the club's original Sturt Football Club name. The ground has served as the club's home base for many decades and provides facilities for senior, women's, and junior football programs. Sturt Oval is located within the City of Marion and provides a central venue for the club's broad community activities throughout the season.

Community and Programs

The Marion Football Club fields senior men's teams in the Adelaide Footy League along with women's and junior programs that remain connected to the Southern Football League. The club's junior development pathway has produced state-level and AFL talent, most recently Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, who was drafted to St Kilda. With over 135 years of continuous football, the Rams represent one of the deepest community sporting traditions in Adelaide's south. The club operates under a passionate volunteer committee with strong family and multigenerational membership.

Marion

Marion is a suburb in the City of Marion, located approximately 11 kilometres south of the Adelaide CBD. It is a well-established residential suburb that takes its name from the local government area it sits within, bounded by Sturt Road to the north and the main arterial roads connecting Adelaide's southern corridor. The suburb is home to the Westfield Marion shopping centre - one of the largest in South Australia - which anchors Marion as a regional service hub for suburbs from Hallett Cove through to Seacombe Gardens. The Rams' longevity in Marion reflects the suburb's stable, family-oriented character across multiple generations.

The Rams compete in the Adelaide Footy League and call Sturt Oval, Marion home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

  • Footy Banner Information

All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using solvent inks which will not run, even if they get wet.

We recommend taping broomsticks to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it.  if you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through.

On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon!

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
