About Ingle Farm Sporting Club
Origins and Founding
Ingle Farm Sporting Club was founded in February 1968 as the Ingle Farm Football Club, making it one of the established clubs in Adelaide's northern suburban competition. The club was created to serve the growing residential community of Ingle Farm, a suburb that had only been developed as a housing estate from 1959 onwards following the South Australian Housing Trust's purchase of farmland from the Rowe family. The club initially competed in the Central Districts Football Association, then transferred to the Norwood-North Association in 1974, before moving to the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL) in 1978 - the competition it has called home ever since. In 1993, the football club was renamed the Ingle Farm Sporting Club to reflect its broader role in the community, encompassing cricket, netball, and other sports alongside Australian rules football.
Club History
Competing in the SAAFL since 1978, the Bulldogs have built a reputation as a committed northern Adelaide club across more than four decades of amateur football. The club has developed many local players through its junior and senior programs and maintained a strong presence in the northern suburbs competition. Known as the Bulldogs, the club fields teams across multiple grades each season and continues to attract players from Ingle Farm and the wider City of Salisbury area.
Home Ground
The Bulldogs play their home games at Rowe Park in Ingle Farm, situated in the suburb's south. The ground is named in honour of the Rowe family, who originally farmed the land from 1848 before selling 730 acres to the South Australian Housing Trust in 1959. Rowe Park serves as the hub of the Ingle Farm Sporting Club, hosting football, cricket, netball, and other community sports throughout the year. The ground is adjacent to Rowe Street in the neighbouring suburb of Para Hills, which also bears the family's name.
Community and Programs
Ingle Farm Sporting Club runs junior football programs to develop the next generation of Bulldogs, with youth pathways feeding into the senior competition. The broader sporting club structure means football sits alongside cricket, golf, netball, and softball, giving the local community a wide range of organised sport. Ingle Farm
Ingle Farm is a residential suburb of about 9,543 people (2021 census) in the City of Salisbury, located approximately 12 kilometres north-east of Adelaide's central business district. The suburb takes its name from the Rowe family farm, which was established in the area in 1848 and later renamed "Ingle Farm" following a marriage connection to the Victorian town of Inglewood. Ingle Farm is well served by public transport via the Adelaide O-Bahn busway, and its district centre at the corner of Montague Road and Walkleys Road includes a major shopping centre alongside medical, aged care, and recreational facilities.
