Every milestone deserves a banner at Research Park. Whether it's a young Searcher's 50th game or a milestone worth shouting from the rooftops, FootyBanners.com makes it easy to celebrate with a fully personalised Research Junior Football Club banner they'll keep for life.
Simple to Order
Getting your Searchers banner sorted is simple. Select from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner formats. You'll need the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and the milestone - for example, Riley Nguyen, #21, 50 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper and fully weatherproof, your banner will hold up through a chilly Melbourne winter morning without missing a beat.
Two Players, One Banner
Two Searchers hitting the same milestone in the same round? Our Two Player Banner is perfect. Just provide both players' details and guernsey numbers, and we'll create one standout banner to mark the occasion for the pair of them.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Celebrating a full team's achievement? The Team Banner option covers 3 to 6 players in one custom design. Use a top-line message like "SEARCHERS - PRIDE OF RESEARCH PARK" and add a closing tagline to send the team out in style at any home or away game.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Relive the best junior footy memories with our Wall Keepsake Banners in Small, Medium, and Large. Printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks, these Searchers banners look great framed in a games room, hanging in the clubrooms, or proudly displayed in a family home.

About Research Searchers Football Club
Origins and Founding
Research Junior Football Club - home of the Searchers - was established in 1980 in the suburb of Research, Victoria, approximately 24 kilometres north-east of Melbourne's CBD within the Shire of Nillumbik. The club was set up to provide junior Australians rules football for the Research community following the broader tradition of community football that had existed in the area for decades. Research had also been home to a Senior Football Club from 1958 to 1991, which competed in the Panton Hill Football League and won premierships in 1984 and 1985 before transferring to the Diamond Valley Football League (now the NFNL) in 1986 and disbanding in 1992. The Junior Football Club continued operating independently and has grown into the thriving community club it is today, as detailed on the club's official history page.
Club History
The Research Junior Football Club competes in the Northern Football and Netball League (NFNL), one of Victoria's premier community football competitions. The club was recognised as the NFNL Club of the Year in 2014 and was named a finalist for the award again in 2019, reflecting its strong community and administrative standing within the league. In recent years the club has grown significantly - from 8 teams in 2023 to 11 junior teams in 2024 - demonstrating the expanding participation base in the Research and Nillumbik community. The club has an established affiliation with Lower Plenty Football Club, providing a clear senior football pathway for graduating players.
Home Ground
The Searchers play their home games at Research Park, located on Main Road, Research. In 2019, the club completed a significant clubroom redevelopment, providing first-class facilities for players, families, and supporters. Research Park is a scenic multi-use sporting precinct surrounded by Nillumbik's characteristic bushland setting, and also hosts cricket and tennis clubs from the Research community. The new clubrooms and their scenic views make Research Park one of the more picturesque junior football venues in metropolitan Melbourne's outer north-east.
Community and Programs
One of the defining features of the Research Junior Football Club is its strong commitment to girls' football. The club has built nearly equal numbers of boys' and girls' teams across age groups, from Auskick through to Under 18s, making it one of the more gender-balanced junior clubs in the NFNL. The club's focus on development over competition, with high-quality coaching in a fun, safe, and family-friendly environment, has made it a favourite destination for families across the Nillumbik area. The club also provides Auskick as a weekly introduction to AFL football for the youngest players.
Research, Victoria
Research is a leafy suburb in Melbourne's outer north-east, 24 kilometres from the CBD and within the Shire of Nillumbik. It had a population of 2,695 at the 2021 census, according to the Research, Victoria Wikipedia page. The area is characterised by large bushland blocks, high biodiversity, and one of the highest bushfire risks in Australia due to its dense Eucalyptus and Melaleuca tree cover. The suburb's unusual name came from the Victorian gold rush era, when the area was first known as Swiper's Gully before gold was found after a second search, prompting the name "Research Gully" - later shortened to Research. Schools in Research include the well-regarded Eltham College and Research Primary School.
The Searchers compete in the Northern Football and Netball League and call Research Park home. Visit the club's website at researchjfc.com.au for registration, fixtures, and club news. Follow the club on Instagram for the latest Searchers updates.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
