Kinglake Lakers Banners - Celebrating Mountain Footy Milestones

When a Lakers player reaches a milestone that the whole club wants to celebrate, FootyBanners.com is ready to help you do it justice. Order a fully custom banner for your favourite Kinglake Lakers player and make the moment last.

Simple to Order

Choose your banner type - Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final - and provide the player's details: name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone, for example: Mitch Hargreaves, #11, 100 Games. Banners are produced using permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, ready for whatever the Victorian bush throws at them on a cold day up on the mountain.

Two Players, One Banner

If two Lakers players are sharing a milestone in the same game, a Two Player Banner brings both achievements together on one quality banner. Provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the game milestone to get started.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

When 3 to 6 players are all clocking up milestones in the same round, the Team Banner is the perfect way to celebrate the whole group at once. Customise yours with a top-line message like "Kinglake Lakers - Mountain Legends" and everyone gets a banner to remember.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks that stand the test of time. Hang one in the clubrooms, the games room, or anywhere else that means something to your Lakers hero.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes with customised top and bottom text, Grand Final Banners are designed to send the Kinglake Lakers out in style on the biggest day of the season. Get in touch for design help tailored to your club.

About Kinglake Football and Netball Club

Origins and Founding

Kinglake Football Club was officially formed in 1925 and is based at the Memorial Oval in Kinglake Central, nestled in the ranges north-east of Melbourne. Known as the Lakers, the club has competed across multiple leagues throughout its history, beginning in the Panton Hill and District Football League and later moving through the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League, the Diamond Valley Football League (renamed the Northern Football League in 2007), and eventually returning to the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League. The Lakers are now affiliated with the Northern Football Netball League (NFNL), competing in the Third Division.

Club History

The Lakers have claimed three senior premierships across their history: back-to-back flags in 1939 and 1940 in the Panton Hill and District Football League, and a Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League Second Division premiership in 1994 following the club's reformation after a period in recess from 1981 to 1989. The club also finished runners-up in 2009, 2015, 2016, and 2022. After a further period away from competition in the early 2000s, Kinglake returned to the NFNL and has maintained a consistent presence in the northern competition. The club currently fields senior, reserves, and junior teams at Memorial Oval.

Home Ground

The Lakers play at Memorial Oval, located at the corner of Extons Road and Kinglake-Whittlesea Road in Kinglake Central. Before this ground was established, the club played on the Extons family land and on vacant land behind the Kinglake Hotel. The Memorial Oval serves the Kinglake community as a social and sporting hub and is shared with the club's affiliated netball teams, which were added to the club's structure from 2008 onward.

Community and Programs

Kinglake Football and Netball Club plays an important role in the mountain community. In February 2009, the Black Saturday bushfires devastated the Kinglake region, causing severe loss of life and property. The football club served as a focal point for community recovery, and the club's resilience in the years following - reaching the grand final in 2009 despite the tragedy - became a symbol of the community's spirit. The club continues to field junior football programs, Auskick, and netball teams to serve young participants from the Kinglake and surrounding townships.

Kinglake Central

Kinglake Central is a small township located approximately 55 kilometres north-east of Melbourne in the Shire of Murrindindi, Victoria. The area sits in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and is characterised by dense bushland, farming properties, and a close-knit rural community. The Black Saturday fires of 7 February 2009 had a profound impact on the Kinglake district, but the community has rebuilt and continues to grow.

The Lakers compete in the Northern Football Netball League and call Memorial Oval, Kinglake Central home. Follow the club on Facebook and Instagram.

  • Footy Banner Information

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
