About Lancelin Ledge Point Pirates Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Lancelin Ledge Point Pirates Football Club was established in 1995, serving the twin coastal communities of Lancelin and Ledge Point in Western Australia. The club joined the Central Midlands Coastal Football League (CMCFL) in 2009 - a competition that was founded in 1992 through the merger of the Coastal Football Association and the Central Midlands Football League. The Pirates field teams in Australian rules football, netball, and hockey, making them a true multi-sport community club for the local area.

Club History
Since joining the CMCFL, the Pirates have developed into genuine competition powerhouses, having played in five grand finals and won two CMCFL premierships. Their first flag came in 2014, when they defeated Cervantes 10.13 (73) to 9.15 (69) in a tight grand final. The Pirates returned to the grand final in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 before finally claiming their second premiership in 2021, defeating Cervantes 10.7 (67) to 5.10 (40). Their 2021 flag was especially sweet after four consecutive runner-up finishes. The Pirates were also runners-up in the 2013 grand final (before their first flag), making it six grand final appearances in total since 2013 - one of the most consistent records in the competition.

Home Ground
The Pirates play their home games at Lancelin Sporting Complex in Lancelin, a well-maintained ground that serves the dual community of Lancelin and nearby Ledge Point. Known locally as "Pirate Park", the ground hosts football, netball, and hockey matches throughout the season and is a central social gathering point for both communities. Community and Programs
The Lancelin Ledge Point Pirates Football Club is the primary sporting organisation for both Lancelin and Ledge Point, fielding senior and junior teams across multiple sports. The club plays a crucial role in bringing the two small coastal communities together on weekends throughout the AFL season, with match days at Pirate Park drawing strong crowds given the community's size. The club also runs social events including an annual formal dinner that has become a highlight of the community calendar.

Lancelin and Ledge Point
Lancelin is a small coastal town located approximately 127 kilometres north of Perth in the Shire of Gingin, Western Australia. Known for its towering sand dunes, world-class windsurfing conditions, and the iconic lobster fishing industry, Lancelin attracts visitors from across Australia and overseas. Ledge Point is a smaller coastal community approximately 7 kilometres south of Lancelin, also known for its fishing and coastal lifestyle. Together the two communities share sporting facilities and a strong community identity, united most visibly by the Lancelin Ledge Point Pirates Football Club.
