Lockleys Demons Banners - Adelaide's West Side Footy Spirit
Since 1951, the Lockleys Football Club has been a proud presence in Adelaide's western suburbs, and FootyBanners.com is here to help the Demons celebrate every milestone with a custom banner that reflects that community spirit.
Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options and provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone (for example, Joel Burke, #4, 100 Games). Banners are produced with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper that holds up through a scorching South Australian afternoon at the oval.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Demons players share a milestone in the same match, our Two Player banner celebrates them both together in one great design. Supply both players' names and guernsey numbers and we'll handle everything from there.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
For groups of 3 to 6 players celebrating together, our Team Banner option covers the whole squad in one powerful design. Set a top-line message like "Rise Demons!" and give the squad something they'll always remember running through.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners are available in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. A great keepsake for the Demons clubrooms or a pride display in a supporter's home.
Grand Final Banners
When the Demons are playing for the flag, step up with a Grand Final banner in 4.5m or 5.5m. Top and bottom text is fully customised for Lockleys Football Club. Reach out early for help with wording and design.
About Lockleys Football Club (Demons)
Origins and Founding
The Lockleys Football Club was established in 1951 and has competed in local football in Adelaide's western suburbs for over seven decades. The club initially competed in the Glenelg South Football Association (GSFA), where they struggled in their early years before developing into one of the competition's leading clubs by the mid-1960s. In 1979, Lockleys merged with Torrensville United, absorbing that club while retaining the Lockleys name and identity. From 1986 onwards, following their departure from the GSFA at the end of the 1985 season, the Demons have competed in what is now the Adelaide Footy League (AFL).
Club History
During their time in the Glenelg South Football Association, Lockleys claimed A Grade premierships in 1965, 1974, 1978 and 1982. After joining the South Australian Amateur Football League in 1986, the Demons earned promotion as premiers in 1992 from A5 Grade, then followed that up with an A4 premiership in 1993, defeating West Croydon 16.12 (108) to 10.12 (72) in the grand final. A period of rebuilding followed, with the club reaching the Division 6 grand final in 2015, and gaining promotion through finals appearances in 2016 and 2017. The 2020 season marked a historic milestone: Lockleys won three senior grand finals in the same season - Division 5, Division 5 Reserves and C5 - the first time in the club's history. In 2021 the Demons added a Women's A Grade premiership, achieved in just the women's team's second season of competition, along with D5R and C5 titles. The 2022 season delivered another double, with D5R and C Grade titles for a third consecutive year. By 2024, Lockleys earned promotion to Division 3 after all senior men's and women's teams made finals. Thomas Scully, a product of the Lockleys junior pathway, was selected by Port Adelaide with pick 53 in the 2022 AFL National Draft.
Home Ground
The Demons play their home games at Lockleys Oval, situated in the suburb of Lockleys in Adelaide's western suburbs. The ground sits within a bend of the River Torrens, in a neighbourhood with a long history of market gardens and community sport. The oval serves as the hub for the club's senior men's, senior women's and junior programs.
Community and Programs
Lockleys Football Club fields teams across a broad range of competitions, including senior men's teams in Division 3 and Division 3 Reserves, senior women's teams in Division 2 and Division 2 Reserves, and a thriving junior program affiliated with the SANFL Juniors competition. The club introduced a Women's B Grade side in 2024, further expanding participation pathways for women. Lockleys is located on Kaurna Land and is actively involved in inclusion and community initiatives, partnering with local schools and supporting NAB Auskick programs for young players beginning their football journey.
Lockleys
Lockleys is an inner western suburb of Adelaide situated in the City of West Torrens, approximately 6 kilometres west of the Adelaide CBD. The suburb recorded a population of 5,987 at the 2021 Census. Large parts of Lockleys lie within a bend of the River Torrens, and the area was historically known for its rich soil and market gardens. It borders Underdale, Fulham, Brooklyn Park and West Beach, and is well connected to both the airport precinct and the city via the Anzac Highway corridor.
The Demons compete in the Adelaide Footy League and call Lockleys Oval home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
