Masala Dandenong Tigers Banners - Celebrate the Tigers in Style

Every milestone at the Masala Dandenong Tigers deserves a banner that reflects the passion and community spirit this club embodies. FootyBanners.com creates fully custom banners for Tigers players at every level - from junior milestones to senior century celebrations.

Simple to Order

Placing your Masala Dandenong Tigers banner order takes just minutes. Pick from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options. For player banners, simply provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Michael Nguyen, #3, 50 Games. All banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to handle a warm Melbourne summer day out on the oval.

Two Players, One Banner

Got two Tigers players reaching the same milestone? Our Two Player Banner lets you celebrate both at once. Just supply both players' names and guernsey numbers - both players must be celebrating the same milestone game - and we'll create a quality banner that honous both achievements side by side.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Our Team Banner covers 3 to 6 players - perfect for a milestone round or end-of-year awards night. A top-line message like "Masala Dandenong Tigers - Season Award Winners" adds the right touch to make the night truly memorable for everyone involved with the club.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. Whether they're hung in the Tigers clubrooms or taken home as a personal keepsake, these banners last long after the season is done.

Grand Final Banners

Our Grand Final Banners come in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes and can be fully customised with the Masala Dandenong Tigers' own top and bottom text. Contact us for design support to make sure your banner is race-ready for the big occasion.

About Masala Dandenong Tigers Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Masala Dandenong Football Club was founded in August 2012 by Ash Nugent, who had served as Team Manager of the Indian Tigers at the 2011 AFL International Cup. Inspired by the experience of watching multicultural communities connect through Australian football on an international stage, Nugent and the club's other founders set out to create a football club that would promote the game within Melbourne's diverse immigrant and multicultural communities. The name "Masala" - meaning a blend of spices - was deliberately chosen to reflect the club's multicultural identity, embracing players of all backgrounds. The Richmond Football Club, a supporter of the Indian Tigers at the International Cup, backed the new club from the start, providing the club's jumper and early support.

Club History

In October 2012, the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) admitted Masala into the Club XVIII Section 3 competition, and the club played its first official VAFA match on 13 April 2013, a 131-point loss to Richmond Central. Despite a difficult debut year, the club won its first match in Round 8 against the Dragons - another multiculturalism-based club - before finishing last in the section. In 2015, Masala stepped up to the VAFA's senior competition, entering a senior and reserves side in Division 4, marking a significant milestone in the club's development.

On 11 February 2019, the club was officially renamed the Masala Dandenong Football Club, deepening its ties to the Dandenong community and reflecting its ambitions as a local anchor club in Melbourne's south-east. In 2022, the club launched a junior football program - the North Dandenong Masala Junior Football Club - competing in the South East Junior Football League (SEJFL), reviving the historic North Dandenong Junior Football Club that had dissolved in 2018. The club currently competes in the VAFA Thirds competition as of 2025, fielding teams in Division 2 and Division 5.

Home Ground

The Masala Dandenong Tigers call Lois Twohig Reserve in Dandenong North home, where they have been based since 2020. Prior to settling at Lois Twohig Reserve, the club played at WJ Powell Reserve and later at Fotheringham Reserve (from 2018). The Lois Twohig Reserve provides a base for both the senior football and the club's junior programs in the heart of Melbourne's south-eastern multicultural corridor.

Community and Programs

Multicultural inclusion sits at the core of the Masala Dandenong mission. The club was founded specifically to provide a welcoming football environment for Melbourne's diverse immigrant communities, and has maintained that identity throughout its history. Players from Indian, South Asian, African, and other multicultural backgrounds have all worn the Masala guernsey. The club's 2022 junior program launch extended this mission to younger players, giving children from multicultural families in the Dandenong area a structured pathway into Australian football. The club also actively participates in community football events and works with other multicultural football clubs in Victoria to grow the game beyond traditional demographics.

Dandenong North

Dandenong North is a suburb in Melbourne's south-east, located approximately 35 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. It is part of the broader Dandenong area within the City of Greater Dandenong - one of Australia's most culturally diverse local government areas, with more than 150 languages spoken by its residents. The City of Greater Dandenong has a population of around 165,000 and is known as the most diverse municipality in Victoria, making it a natural home for a multicultural football club like Masala Dandenong. The area's vibrant community life, with strong Indian, Sri Lankan, Cambodian, and African communities among many others, reflects exactly the spirit that the club was founded to serve.

The Tigers compete in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) and call Lois Twohig Reserve, Dandenong North home. Visit the club website for more information and follow them on Facebook for news and match day updates.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
