Mayne Tigers Football Banners - Celebrate a Century of Tigers Pride
One of Queensland's oldest and most decorated clubs, the Mayne Tigers have a history worth celebrating. FootyBanners.com creates custom banners for the Tigers that honour player milestones, grand final campaigns, and everything in between - because moments like these deserve something special.
Simple to Order
Order a Single Player Banner by providing the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Matt Dellar, #6, 150 Games. Our banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper built to handle a sweltering Queensland afternoon at Enoggera Memorial Park. The Tigers are tough - and so are our banners.
Two Players, One Banner
Got two Tigers legends reaching a milestone together? Our Two Player Banner lets you celebrate both on a single premium banner - just provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the milestone being recognised. Double the pride, one great banner.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Rally the whole squad with a Team Banner featuring 3 to 6 players. Set a top-line message like "Mayne Tigers - Queensland's Finest" and give your team something to roar through with pride. Perfect for a big finals week or a season-defining celebration.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks - perfect for the clubrooms, the garage, or the games room. A lasting tribute to the Mayne Tigers and the proud history they carry.
Grand Final Banners

About Mayne Tigers Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Mayne Australian Football Club is one of Queensland's oldest and most storied football institutions, founded in 1924 in the Brisbane suburb of Gaythorne. The club joined the Queensland Football League (QFL) in 1925 and spent the next 74 years competing at the highest level of Queensland football. Known as the Tigers, Mayne became the most successful club in the history of Queensland's top-tier competition, claiming 15 premierships across six decades from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Club History
Mayne's most recent QAFL premiership came in 1982, followed by a grand final appearance in 1985. Following the club's exclusion from the competition after the 1999 season, the Tigers entered a legal battle for reinstatement and eventually returned to compete at lower levels. The club rebuilt strongly in the QFA competition, winning back-to-back-to-back seniors and reserves premierships in 2014, 2015 and 2016 - defeating Noosa in 2014 and Maroochydore Roos in both 2015 and 2016. As of 2025 the men's team competes in QFA Division 1 while the women's team plays in QFAW Division 2. In 2024 the club proudly celebrated its centenary year. Notable alumni who went on to play at the elite level include Jason Akermanis (Brisbane Bears/Lions and Footscray/Western Bulldogs), Richard Champion (Brisbane Bears/Lions), Mick Nolan (North Melbourne) and Stephen Richardson (Essendon).
Home Ground
The Mayne Tigers play their home games at Enoggera Memorial Park, located in Gaythorne in Brisbane's inner north-west. The ground has served as the club's headquarters for many years and hosts seniors, reserves and women's matches throughout the season. The Memorial Park ground is a community sporting precinct that has witnessed generations of Tigers football across more than a century of competition.
Community and Programs
The Mayne Tigers field senior men's, senior women's and junior teams, providing football pathways across all ages. The club is deeply embedded in the Gaythorne and Enoggera communities and runs active junior and youth programs as part of the AFL Queensland structure. The Tigers' centenary in 2024 featured community events celebrating the club's rich history and the generations of families who have worn the black and gold. The club maintains active social media channels and a strong supporter base across Brisbane's north-west.
Gaythorne and Enoggera
Gaythorne is a suburb in the City of Brisbane located approximately 8 kilometres north-west of the Brisbane CBD, recording a population of 3,158 at the 2021 census. The neighbouring suburb of Enoggera, home to the famous Gallipoli Barracks (Australia's largest army base in Queensland), recorded a population of 5,849 at the 2021 census. Both suburbs sit in Brisbane's well-established inner north-west corridor, known for their community character, heritage homes and proximity to the city.
The Tigers compete in QFA Division 1 and call Enoggera Memorial Park, Gaythorne home. Visit the club website for more information and follow them on social media for news and match day updates.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
