Melville Hawks Junior Football Club Banners - Celebrate Every Milestone
From first-year Auskickers to Under 17 standouts, FootyBanners.com creates custom footy banners for every milestone at the Melville Hawks Junior Football Club. Whether it's a milestone game, a grand final appearance, or the end of a great season, our banners give every young Hawk a memory to keep forever.
Simple to Order
Ordering a Single Player banner is easy - just provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone, for example Jake Smith, #7, 100 Games. Our banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to survive a blazing WA afternoon at Marmion Reserve and look great on the wall long after the final siren.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Hawks hit the same milestone in the same game, our Two Player Banner brings them both together. Simply send us both players' names and guernsey numbers and we'll create a quality banner worth running through at Marmion Reserve.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Celebrating three to six players at once? Our Team Banner option puts them all on a single banner. Use the top line to set the scene - something like "Hawks Legends" - and let the names and numbers do the rest. Perfect for a season-end presentation or grand final day.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. They make a great display in the clubrooms, a family home, or a games room - a lasting tribute to a young Hawk's footy journey.
Grand Final Banners
Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, our Grand Final Banners can be fully customised with your top and bottom text for the Melville Hawks' biggest days. Contact us for design advice and we'll help you get it right.
About Melville Hawks Junior Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Melville Hawks Junior Football Club was established in 1952, making it one of the longest-running junior AFL clubs in Western Australia. The club was formed to give young footballers in the Melville area a pathway into Australian rules football, and within eight years had established its clubhouse at Marmion Reserve on Marmion Street. From a founding era when guernseys were made of heavy woollen fabric, the club has grown across seven decades into a thriving junior sports community with hundreds of players registered each season.Club History
The Hawks have produced a remarkable roll-call of talent at the elite level. The club's history page lists AFL alumni including Patrick Cripps (Carlton Football Club, Brownlow Medalist), Daniel Kerr (West Coast Eagles, 2006 AFL Premiership player), Cale Hooker (Essendon), Billy Frampton (2022 Collingwood Premiership player), and Cameron Zurhaar (North Melbourne, NAB Rising Star nominee). At WAFL level, the club has produced players including Daniel Kerr and Jeff Johnson (both East Fremantle), with the alumni list stretching back to Bob Becu in 1969. In 2024, the Hawks celebrated grand final victories in both the Year 7 Metro South and Year 9 Metro South competitions. Girls football was added in 2021, and the women's program has continued to grow each season since.Home Ground
The Hawks are based at Marmion Reserve, 440 Marmion Street, Melville WA. The club established its original clubhouse at the reserve in 1960, and has progressively upgraded the facilities ever since - adding lights in 1970, extending the clubhouse in 1977, renovating the pavilion in 2009, and completing major clubroom renovations in 2022. A full upgrade of the oval lighting was completed in 2003, and a new scoreboard was installed in 2009. The reserve also hosts the club's Auskick program, which drew over 300 children and families to an inaugural night game in 2010.Community and Programs
The Melville Hawks offer AFL participation from Auskick (ages 4-8) through to Year 12, welcoming boys and girls of all skill levels. The club's mission is to inspire kids to have fun, get fit, develop skills, and make lifelong friends in a safe and inclusive environment. The club runs an Auskick centre and has invested in an Indigenous guernsey program celebrating the Whadjuk Nyungar heritage of the Melville area. The club values contribution, fair-play, integrity, and respect - principles that run through every level of the program.Melville, Western Australia

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
