Mosman Whales Football Club Banners - Celebrate Every Games Milestone

From junior development to senior grand finals, FootyBanners.com is the home of custom football banners for Mosman Whales supporters. Our banners are the perfect way to mark a milestone and give your Whales player the recognition they've earned out on the oval.

Simple to Order

Our Single Player Banner is a crowd favourite for individual milestone games. Simply provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Tom Fletcher, #9, 50 Games - and we take care of everything else. Printed with permanent weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper, your banner will make a statement even on a sweltering Sydney afternoon down at the oval.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Whales players share the same milestone on the same day, our Two Player Banner is the ideal choice. Supply the name, guernsey number, and milestone for each player and we'll produce a quality banner that celebrates both equally.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

The Team Banner option is designed for 3 to 6 players, bringing a group milestone together in a single striking design. A top-line message like "Go Mosman Whales!" sets the tone and gives the banner that big-match feel.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, produced on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks that are built to last. A keepsake banner hanging in the clubrooms or games room is a daily reminder of what it means to be a Whale.

Grand Final Banners

When the Mosman Whales Football Club are heading into a big final, make the occasion unforgettable with a custom Grand Final Banner. We offer 4.5m and 5.5m options with personalised top and bottom text - contact us for design advice and we'll bring your vision to life.

About Mosman Whales Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Mosman Whales Football Club traces its origins to 1893, when Mosman's first rugby team was formed on Sydney's Lower North Shore. As documented on Wikipedia, the club officially formed in 1894 as Mosman's Bay Junior Football Club, entering the Third Junior 'B' Division of the New South Wales Rugby Union competition. The club played its first official match on 26 May 1894 against a junior club from inner-Sydney, finishing its inaugural season in seventh place. From those early beginnings, Mosman grew into one of the most enduring rugby clubs in New South Wales, and today the club is universally known as the Mosman Whales.

Club History

Mosman has a rich competitive history stretching back more than 130 years. The club won its first premiership in 1922 (Non District Seconds, 1st Grade) and then claimed the inaugural Kentwell Cup in 1923 - the prestigious NSW Suburban Rugby Union first-grade title. Since then, Mosman has won the Kentwell Cup in 1927, 1954, 2016, and 2019, reflecting the club's consistent competitiveness at the top level. Across all grades, the Whales have accumulated premierships in the Burke Cup (2nd Grade), Whiddon Cup (3rd Grade), Judd Cup (4th Grade), Sutherland Cup (5th Grade), Halligan Cup (6th Grade), and Barbour Cup (Colts), making Mosman one of the most comprehensively successful suburban rugby clubs in Sydney. The Whales also won the Club Championship Cowboy Cup in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Home Ground

The Whales play their home matches at Rawson Oval and Balmoral Oval, both located in Mosman. Rawson Oval is the primary home ground, set in Rawson Park on the Lower North Shore and providing a stunning backdrop for match days. The club's facilities at Rawson Park have been central to its identity for many decades, and the ground is part of the broader parkland around Rawson Park that overlooks the Mosman area.

Community and Programs

The Mosman Whales field up to eight grades of rugby, including senior men's grades and Under 21 Colts, competing in NSW Suburban Rugby Division 1 - one level below the semi-professional Shute Shield competition. The club also has a strong junior arm through the Mosman Junior Rugby Club, which was founded in March 1958. Together, the senior and junior clubs provide a complete rugby pathway for players from the Mosman community and surrounding Lower North Shore suburbs.

Mosman and the Lower North Shore

Mosman is a harbourside suburb on Sydney's Lower North Shore, located approximately 9 kilometres north of the CBD. Known for its dramatic sandstone cliffs, bushland reserves, and ocean beaches including Balmoral Beach and Chowder Bay, Mosman is one of Sydney's most picturesque and sought-after residential areas within the Municipality of Mosman. The area has a strong sporting culture, and the Mosman Whales are one of its most iconic institutions.

The Whales compete in NSW Suburban Rugby Division 1 and call Rawson Oval in Mosman home. Visit the club website for more information, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
