Mount Hawthorn Cardies Junior Banners - Celebrate Every Young Cardie

Whether it's a debut match or an end-of-season milestone, FootyBanners.com makes it easy to create a custom junior banner that celebrates the young Cardies of Mount Hawthorn. A banner they'll treasure for years to come - and one the whole club will want to see run through.

Simple to Order

Select from a Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final Banner to suit the occasion. For individual milestones, simply provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and achievement - for example, Ella Jones, #3, 50 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper - built to last through any blazing WA afternoon at the Mount Hawthorn oval.

Two Players, One Banner

Two young Cardies reaching the same milestone on the same match day? Our Two Player Banner celebrates them both in one great design. Both players must share the same milestone, and you'll need each player's name and guernsey number to get started.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Celebrate the whole junior team with a Team Banner featuring 3 to 6 players. Add a top-line message like "Cardies - Junior Premiers" and make the season's best moments permanent. Perfect for end-of-season presentations and grand final days.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners are available in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. A fantastic keepsake for a young Cardie's bedroom, the family games room, or the clubrooms at Mount Hawthorn.

Grand Final Banners

When the Mount Hawthorn Cardies juniors run out for the grand final, make sure the banner is ready. Grand Final Banners are available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, fully customised with your chosen top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice and we'll help make it a day to remember.

About Mt Hawthorn Cardinals JFC

Origins and Founding

Mount Hawthorn Cardinals Junior Football Club, known to the local community as the Cardies, is one of the inner-northern suburbs' most established junior Australian Rules Football clubs. The club entered its 67th season in 2026, placing its founding year at approximately 1959 or 1960. Operating within the AFL West Australian junior competition structure, the Cardies have built a long tradition of providing quality football development for children across Mount Hawthorn and surrounding neighbourhoods including Joondanna, Osborne Park, and Leederville.

Club History

The Mount Hawthorn Cardinals JFC has operated continuously as a junior-only club throughout its history, focusing exclusively on football development for children. The City of Vincent council has a long relationship with the club, with the Cardinals using council reserves as their home ground and playing facilities. The club has benefited from the strong community spirit of Mount Hawthorn, which has helped sustain junior participation through generations of families returning to the Cardies for their children's football involvement. In the 2026 season the club continues to attract growing numbers, with the club described by local community figures as "booming" in recent years.

Home Ground

The Cardies play their home games at Menzies Park, located on Egina Street, Mount Hawthorn WA 6016. Menzies Park sits in the heart of the Mount Hawthorn community and provides the club's principal training and competition venue. The ground is well connected to local schools and residential areas, making it easily accessible for families across the suburb and the broader City of Vincent area.

Community and Programs

The Cardies offer a full range of junior programs from Auskick through to under-age competition teams. The club's emphasis on fun, development, and inclusion reflects the inclusive culture of the Mount Hawthorn community. Season launches, working bees, and community events are core parts of the Cardies calendar, ensuring families feel connected to the club beyond match days. The club actively engages with local sponsors and community partners to keep registration costs accessible for all families.

Mount Hawthorn

Mount Hawthorn is a residential suburb of Perth, located approximately 5 kilometres north of the Perth CBD within the City of Vincent. The area was first selected for urban development in 1887 and formally subdivided in 1903, when the Hawthorn Estate name was chosen by developer James Hicks after his time spent in Melbourne's Hawthorn suburb. With a population of around 8,183 people recorded in the 2021 Census, Mount Hawthorn is known for its cafe culture, independent retailers, and strong community identity centred around Oxford Street and Scarborough Beach Road. The suburb's inner-city character and family-friendly neighbourhoods have made it one of Perth's most sought-after residential addresses.

The Cardies compete in AFL West Australian junior competitions and call Menzies Park, Egina Street, Mount Hawthorn home. Follow the club on Facebook or on Instagram.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
