Nagambie Lakers Banners - Honour a Club with Deep Roots

The Nagambie Lakers have been part of the fabric of this lakeside Victorian town for well over a century, and FootyBanners.com is proud to help celebrate every milestone along the way. Each custom banner is personalised with the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - a truly individual keepsake for every Lakers player and their family.

Simple to Order

Choose from a Single Player Banner, Two Player Banner, Team Banner, or Grand Final Banner - then provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone (for example, Chris Bowman, #6, 250 Games). All banners use permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, ready for any kind of weather on the banks of Lake Nagambie.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Lakers reach the same milestone on the same game day, a Two Player Banner brings both names and guernsey numbers together in one premium banner - a memory that will live on long after the final siren.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

A Team Banner showcases 3 to 6 players and is the perfect way to celebrate a group milestone or premiership campaign. Add a top-line message like "Lake Life. Lakers Pride." and let FootyBanners.com put it all together.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, Wall Keepsake Banners are produced on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks - perfect for the clubrooms, garage, or games room as a permanent tribute to every proud Nagambie Laker.

Grand Final Banners

Measuring 4.5m or 5.5m, Grand Final Banners can be customised from top to bottom to capture the spirit of the Lakers' biggest day. Contact FootyBanners.com for design advice for Nagambie Football Club's next grand final.

About Nagambie Lakers Football Netball Club

Origins and Founding

The Nagambie Football Netball Club, known as the Lakers, was established in 1881 and is one of the oldest football clubs in Victoria's Goulburn Valley region. The club's first recorded match was reported by The Age in 1881, when Nagambie met Seymour in an early Australian rules encounter. By 1882 the club was playing on the paddock of a local property owner, and in 1888 the members voted at the annual meeting to join the North Eastern Football Association, beginning a long journey through multiple regional competitions. The club has played its home matches in the town of Nagambie throughout its 145-year history, drawing its identity from the famous Lake Nagambie that lies at the heart of the town.

Club History

The Nagambie Lakers have accumulated 22 senior premierships across multiple competitions - an extraordinary record for a regional club of their size. Their earliest flags came in the Goulburn Valley region in 1905, 1906, 1907, 1908 and 1919. The club competed in several district associations including the Waranga North East Football Association and the Upper Goulburn Football Association before joining the Kyabram District Football League (KDFL) in 1965, which remains their current competition. KDFL premierships have followed in 1965, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1975, 1977, 1998, 1999, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019, while the thirds team was undefeated premiers in 2024. The Lakers are affiliated with both the KDL and the Goulburn Murray Junior League (GMJL) for junior competition.

Home Ground

The Lakers call Nagambie Recreation Reserve home, a ground with a capacity of approximately 5,000 spectators on the outskirts of town. Located on Vickers Lane, Nagambie, the reserve provides a main oval, rooms and facilities for both the senior football and netball clubs. The ground is situated in the heart of a farming district and comes alive on match days when players and supporters from across the Goulburn Valley region converge for KDFL competition. The reserve has hosted generations of Lakers football and is a central part of the Nagambie community.

Community and Programs

Nagambie FNC operates senior men's and women's football teams, a reserves and thirds program, and a junior football and netball program affiliated with the Goulburn Murray Junior League. The club is actively engaged in the Nagambie township and surrounding farming communities, and welcomes new members each season. The Lakers maintain strong ties to the broader Goulburn Valley regional football network and draw support from towns including Murchison, Rushworth, Avenel and Violet Town. The club's contact for enquiries is nagambielakersfnc@outlook.com.

Nagambie

Nagambie is a small regional town in the Strathbogie Shire, located approximately 145 kilometres north of Melbourne along the Hume Highway corridor. The town sits on the shores of Lake Nagambie, a large lake formed by the Goulburn Weir on the Goulburn River. Nagambie is known as a water sports hub, hosting national and international rowing, kayaking and sailing events on the lake. The town's population is around 1,500 people, and it serves a wider agricultural hinterland of farms, vineyards and grazing properties across the Strathbogie Ranges and Goulburn Valley. The Nagambie Lakes wine region, producing high-quality cool-climate wines, has added a tourism dimension to the town in recent decades.

The Lakers compete in the Kyabram District Football League and call Nagambie Recreation Reserve home. Follow them on Facebook and follow them on Instagram for news, fixtures and match day updates.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
