Old Ignatians Wolves Football Club Banners - Celebrate Every Ignatian Milestone

From debut games to 300-game legends, FootyBanners.com creates stunning custom banners for every milestone in an Ignatian's career. Whether it is a landmark game, a hard-fought win, or a premiership celebration, our banners are the perfect way for the Iggies faithful to mark the occasion in style.

Simple to Order

Ordering your Single Player banner is straightforward - just provide the player's first name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone, for example Matt Smith, #43, 150 Games. Our banners are printed with permanent weatherproof inks on heavy-duty paper, built to hold up whether they are run through on a warm Adelaide afternoon or hung proudly in the stands at Karen Rolton Oval.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Iggies reach the same milestone in the same match, our Two Player Banner is the ideal way to honour them together. Simply supply both players' names and guernsey numbers, and we will produce a quality banner that celebrates both legends side by side.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Got three to six players all hitting a milestone at once? Our Team Banner option brings them all together on a single banner. Use the top line to set the tone - something like "Iggies Legends" - and let the players' names and numbers do the rest. A banner worth running through at Karen Rolton Oval.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to last. They make an outstanding display piece for the clubrooms, a garage, or a games room - a lasting reminder of what it means to be an Iggie.

Grand Final Banners

Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, our Grand Final Banners can be fully customised with your top and bottom text for the Old Ignatians Football Club's biggest days on the Adelaide Footy League stage. Contact us for design advice and we will help you get it just right.

About Old Ignatians Wolves Football Club

Origins and Founding

The Old Ignatians Football Club (OIFC) was founded in 1972 by alumni of Saint Ignatius' College, a Jesuit school in Adelaide's inner north. Led by inaugural playing coach Jay Hogan - widely regarded as the "Club Founder" - a group of old scholars entered the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL) at the A7 division level. In their first season, the Iggies dominated the minor rounds before falling just short in the Grand Final. The club expanded its recruiting base when it discovered that students from Aquinas College, a Jesuit residential college, were eligible to play. That Aquinas connection has remained a cornerstone of the club's identity, providing a steady stream of players and a vibrant social culture that distinguishes the OIFC within amateur football.

Club History

From those early days the Iggies compiled a remarkable record across all grades. The senior A Grade won three flags in its first five seasons - in 1973, 1975, and 1976 - before further A Grade premierships in 1981, 2010, and 2021. The B Grade has been even more prolific, winning eleven premierships including five consecutive titles from 1994 to 1998, a dynasty in which the side won 94 of 102 games. The C Grade won flags in 1995, 1998, 2009, and 2018. The Women's A Grade - formed in 2018 under inaugural coach Tom Sexton and captain Airlie Walters - won the premiership in their debut Division 5 season, defeating Kenilworth in the Grand Final at Thebarton Oval. The pinnacle came in 2021, the club's 50th year, when the Men's A Grade, Men's B Grade, and Women's A Grade all captured premierships in the same season. The 2021 Men's A Grade Grand Final saw the Iggies defeat Glenunga 12.9 (81) to 7.5 (47). John Vagnarelli holds the club games record with 394 appearances.

Home Ground

The Iggies call Karen Rolton Oval (Park 25) home, on Port Road within the Adelaide Park Lands near the Royal Adelaide Hospital. The ground features six changerooms, a private function room, tiered seating for up to 5,000 spectators, and some of the best facilities in South Australian amateur football. The club has invested in new light towers, automatic irrigation, upgraded changerooms, and a memorabilia room to preserve its 50-plus years of history, with support from the McEntee family and long-term sponsor Garry Minuzzo.

Community and Programs

The Iggies are as well known for their off-field culture as their premierships. The weekly newsletter The Dropkick - now edited digitally by Adam Alessandrini - has chronicled club life since the early years. The annual "Destructo" tour to the AFL Grand Final, begun in 1978, is a cherished club tradition. The Annual Business Lunch has featured guest speakers including Jeff Kennett, Malcolm Blight, Stuart O'Grady, Michael Voss, and Greg Ritchie. Long-term sponsors The Norwood Hotel and The Bath Hotel have supported the club for many years. By 2022, the women's program had grown to two teams in Division 1 and Division 1 Reserves.

Adelaide's Inner West

Karen Rolton Oval sits in the Adelaide Park Lands near Port Road and West Terrace, in the inner west of Adelaide, adjacent to the suburb of Hindmarsh and minutes from the CBD. The new Royal Adelaide Hospital is directly next to the ground, and the precinct is easily accessible for players and supporters from across metropolitan Adelaide.

The Iggies compete in the Adelaide Footy League and call Karen Rolton Oval (Park 25) home. Visit the club website for news, history, and fixtures, follow them on Facebook for match updates, and follow them on Instagram for club news.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
